Take A Shot

I feel that it will always be the same,
Heart racing just hearing your name.
The feeling I seem to always get,
Ever since the day that we first met.
Every time I get to look in your eyes,
A piece of my pain always up and dies.
I remember my fingers through your hair,
I let you right in and that's so rare.
I can remember the touch of your skin,
Took me to a place I have never been.
I remember everything about your laugh,
How you never looked at me as a gaffe.
How good it felt with you in my arms,
How you never set off any of my alarms.
I remember the exact point that I knew,
That I just wanted to be only with you.
I know you only see me just as a friend,
But I don't want that to be the only end.
I want to be a guy with the chance,
To just be able to take you and dance.
Not be a reason a part of you dies,
Like with all the other dumb guys.
I sit here and wonder what could be,
If you would just take a shot on me.
