Boys and Men

Boys write taking no time,
Men write with a rhyme.
Still boys get the chance,
While men learn to dance.
Boys make girls lose that care,
For the men it's just plain unfair.
Boys are looking for the next lay,
While men look for the long stay.
Boys looking for a one night stand,
Men look for something more grand.
Boys can think one move or less,
While the men are playing chess.
Boys don't know what it means,
To focus and protect their queens.
All you've ever had are the boys,
That see you as one of their toys.
Being just as flimsy as a card,
Folding when things get hard.
Don't just trust the words I say,
Let me prove myself day to day.
Boys are dumb and will run,
See a challenge and be done.
I'll take time and be smarter,
Not look for another dance partner.
Hold my hand out for the chance,
Wait on you to accept this dance.
