Rose tinted lenses

Seed planted in the mother’s womb, tiny baby, grows up to soon.

First smile, first steps, first chuckle, down she falls as her little legs buckle.  Up again and running wild, mother Mary’s baby, precious child.

In the classroom now, she’s growing day by day.  Jumping stepping stones of life, learning all it has to offer.  Sometimes she thinks why I bother.  But now she grasps the hand of a friend, whom leads her gently through life’s bends.

Another class room now, she wonders, staring out at the world through Rose tinted lenses, in a class of her own. Strong and bold, many stories she’s been told!

Losing direction now in life, it’s a struggle and all seems such a muddle.  But the Rose tinted lenses go back on and she carries on listening to her song.

Feisty fight has got her there, to this place of such compare.  Striving to dress the best complicates life.   Is this a test?

Rising up above it all, now she stands so very tall.  Helping others along the path of life, she found her purpose and what is right.  It’s not about who’s got what, it’s all a bigger picture, which ends the plot.  So lessons learned, she carries on gazing through her Rose tinted lenses; she now sings her song……

Beautiful and lovely......Such stages of life are really very true. And when we see someone we love a lot....walking through these it seems that we are rewinding our own life.........Very nice....:-).....Actually such feelings can't be judged.....they can only be felt :-)

You're most welcome my friend
I love this! I always thought of rose tinted lenses as something that prevents me from seeing "life as it really is," but your poem offers a new and refreshing take on them. Wonderful poem!

I feel where you are writing from. Life can be so hard, but we have to go on. Those roes tinted glasses come in so handy.

This is very well written...but most of all true. I think it speaks to anyone who has children and the life of raising them and watching them grow.
