Freedom from what we ask ourselves

Freedom from what we ask ourselves.  From the shackles that bind us in life.  Freedom from the prison cell suppressed by dark and emptiness at night.  From the day to day rituals, routines and family ties or the baggage we carry generally through life.

Freedom from ourselves, from self sabotage, the inner voice that plays inside like a scratched record over and over.  Imprinting its self in our mind our body and soul, if we let it take hold.

The weight so heavy we carry within, feels like solid Iron Ore. Weighing us down like lead, making each step we take seem like four.  Let go of the doubt, anger and revenge because these feelings will only chew you up and spit you out in the end.

So as the tide of life rolls in, it brings with it the purest of light a glowing prism reflecting all in its path.  It’s time to reach out and grasp it with both hands.  Let in the light.  Locking away the inner critic for eternity, throwing away the key.  Letting things just simply be.......

The voice that dwells within is dancing now, to a different tune, the feeling inside light and translucent, iridescent beauty resides now deep within me, no longer self inhibited. I am a bright shining star to be seen as far as the eye can see.

Everyone’s life has a different path and freedom well, it plays a huge part!  So spread your wings and learn to fly, don’t waste time to sit and cry.  Take time to stop and smell the Roses breathe the pink deep in to your heart and the green stem this to will play a big part. Let the sun shine through your soul.  Freedom comes in all colours purple, red, yellow, green, silver and gold......or so I’m told.

Great job! It's well written and fun to read. The beginning was great!
"Freedom from what we ask ourselves. From the shackles that bind us in life...."
Powerful statement.
"Spread your wings and learn to fly, don't waste time to sit and cry."
Good advice :) Everyone has struggles in their life, we have to learn to cope, grieve, rejoice, fight, let things go...most importantly, we have to live!!

This is a good read, reminds me a bit of my 'Embracing love' especially the last stanza. Good write yet again. Thanks for sharing!

I like the sneaky little 'or so I'm told' at the end of this. :)
Strange as it sounds, this reminds me of me. I preach all this stuff too, but I find I'm usually the one I'm preaching to. I don't listen to a word I say.
Fantastic poem!
