His Hand

His Hand

A Poem by Aaron Parker
"

Written for a friend, deemed too direct. The intended meaning has changed by looking at it a little more closely.

"

Be not the gentle butterfly,

Abashed by the lightest breeze

Trampled under foot

When dust is lifted from your wings

 *

Be not the shimmering rainbow

Of many coloring and many faces

Intangible and lost in translation

 *

Be the deep-rooted tree

The flexible trunk

Held by firm foundation

 *

Be the courageous lion

Roar you deepest roar

The one hidden behind pursed lips

 *

Let no hand guide you

Nor mislead you

But His, in eternal glory

 *

Know that one person has not lost faith in you
