The Reflecting Pool

The Reflecting Pool

A Poem by Aaron Parker
"

Take an introspective look.

"

Looking into a pool

As clear as glass

Seeing a fool

Whose love has passed

*

She is beautiful

In and out

Her soft lips embraced

Without a doubt

*

She held your hand

Gazed in your eyes

What an idiot you were

To think you were her prize

*

You look at yourself now

In clear thought,

And realize she used you

Now it's him she's got

*

She used you

To make him jealous

How crazy a love

From someone so zealous

*

To use you

For their own gain

Like a knife

Stabbing for pain

*

She was unfaithful...

Or maybe she wasn't

She didn't love you

It was him she was after

*

You stare at yourself

In the reflecting pool

Thinking of what

You were to her

A second choice?

A tool?

A lonely voice?

A fool?

*

You look into the water

Ready to drown

Ready for slaughter

This one is a little bit dark. Honesty is very much appreciated.
