My RoseA Poem by Aaron ParkerWhat more is there to say?I found you in a bed of ashes Your petals soft and sweet Even though the wind bashes Creating delicate pleats * Placed elegantly atop a stem Your set of luscious lips call You are une belle femme For you I will fall * I stare at your beauty unable to fathom Look at your head, adorned with dew See beyond your spacing chasm And know already that I love you * I try to take you with me, You I try to pick, But I gaze down and see My skin one of your thorns has pricked * A tiny price to pay to have you A few drops of blood, Of my love, this is my dew The nourishment of the golden bud * I can't take you with me though If I take you from your roots You will warp and wither so But my love for you never mutes * I will watch you bloom again On one of my visits to your home It will cause me great pain To know you must stay in your loam * You may never know that I exist I know that we can never be I may still meet up for our tryst But you are you and I am me.
