The Creature I Traverse

The Creature I Traverse

A Poem by Roberta Singer
"

Something that came to my mind today

"
The city breathes a cool salty air,
the stone walkways I follow everywhere.
I am alone in the sea of people flowing along the carved paths.

Yet connected to the living thing around me,
part of the life blood that flows through it's paved veins.
I am a small part of this creature I traverse.

As parts wither, change and die we all feel the loss,
we feel the changes flowing through out the city.
We move forward, we evolve, we adapt.
I am the city.

Wow, that's very good. Kind of like the social organism written into a physical manifestation, combining the organic and non-organic elements. I liked that because it's very original. Excellent.
