PermanenceA Poem by The Ink ChaptersMake it what you will.
It follows me everywhere
A dark cloud in the night Keeping me in shadow the street light that goes out when I walk by the stranger on my heel Except now he has me Now and forever That stranger I tried to avoid But knew with some foreboding certainty With intense fear It would one day have me For the rest of time And I can’t escape No matter what I do Unless I die But I refuse to die Because I will conquer anything Even if I suffer I will not lose I will find my way Somehow Even if it is now different But the feeling is haunting Like eternity holding you in its grip It manifests I try to deny But I lose myself © 2021 The Ink ChaptersReviews
