My Best Friend

My Best Friend

A Poem by PerfectFlaw90
"

Just a simple poem I wrote in a few minutes.

"

My best friend knows me well
He knows what to say, what to tell
He builds me up when I feel small
He’s there to catch me when I fall

My best friend knows no shame
He’s always willing to take my blame
He’s always there to share a laugh
He always guides me onto the right path

My best friend is easy to please
On every subject, we always agree
He’s there to calm me when I’m irate
He’s never afraid to set me straight

My best friend is honest; he never lies.
If I ask a question, he always replies.
He’s very clear and always concise
He always gives me the best advise

My best friend has no other friends
But he will be with me to the end
My best friend is someone no one can see
Because my best friend just happens to be…

Me

And that's the first person one needs to be best friends with. Oneself. We always need to be our own cheerleader. You've found the secret that so many don't have. They put themselves down all the time and are their own worst enemy. I guessed right off who your best friend was from the picture.

The timing and rhyme of the poem is very good. It flows very nicely and yet has a profound message.

Good job!

I like "my best friend knows no shame". I don't know why, but it made me giggle.
Then I went "Awww" by the end. Your writing seems to make me do that, haha.

Once again, really good!

I love the little, subtle twist at the end. It's well put together and very sad. It drives a point home.

that was a painful, lonely poem hidden in a beauty of togetherness, and other words that make up friendship. it was really really nice-and the surprising twist in the end is very good.
