Personification

Trying to make sense of my life and where I fit in.

Why let you in?
You’ll only hurt me.
I let you in close.
Then you desert me.

So I build up my walls.
Trying to hide.
But as I do,
I lock myself inside.

With my pain,
I’ll create a knife,
And then I’ll take it,
And end my past life.

I’ll use the blade
To sever all ties
Before I let
Another part of me die.

It is true it is like a double edged sword...let them in and fear you will be hurt but don't and you face the pain of loneliness.....
