Big Empty

The vastness of my love
Reaches no ends
For the loves of my life
My closest friends
 
Perhaps I'm missunderstood
Maybe unforgiving
But never will I have
Any misgiving
 
Once you consumed me
The apple of my eye
I wonder where that's gone
I wonder why
 
Maybe I'm to blame
Not understanding you my dear
Perhaps I was always
Holding back the years
 
Into the night
I bow my head
Tears will not fill my pillow
Eyes will not turn a hue of red
 
I didn't make the rules
I just play the game
Call me crazy
Or maybe just insane
 
You chose the path
To which you sent me
Into a giant abyss
A Big empty
 
I don't lament
I don't bemoan
I will continue
To stand alone
 
One day will come
Maybe it might
I have turned it off
It's out like a light
