CORONA WAR

Hello guys, I know we all are trapped inside of our homes in this lockdown. So, why not try doing something new. By observing our current situation, I made up my mind to write on it.

Just another day it was, when we all came back from our schools.

Switched on the TV, but news doesn’t sound so cool.

My eyes turned red and heart attacked, we all are trapped under virus attack.

It reminds me of plague that once hit us hard,
but this time it is Covid-19 war.

My dreams, my life, my family and friends about to fade, and I’m still here,
can’t do anything because it’s already too late.

It is year 2020 and tears rolling down my red eyes,
Then, I saw a video that again inspires me to fight.

My mind began to think "How could a person be so optimistic ?",
the reality is after sometime this virus would be top ranked on its statistics.

My brother asked who enlighten and brighten up your broken heart.
I replied "None other than Prime Minister Narendra Modi our superstar".

Having Faith is an important strength... but you also need an awareness of facts and not political supposition. Remember risks are real and those affected are not always youself. Shortcuts like any details - matter. So many truisms abound but so little common/street sense. Be aware, listen BEFORE speaking, and listen AFTER speaking. Think about ALL you do...hopefully BEFORE you do it.

I'm sorry to dump on your honest & interesting poem, but this sounds a little simplistic compared to all the complexities of this pandemic. I try to remind myself that you are looking at this like someone in high school & maybe this is accurate for what you have seen. In the USA, a person would be struck down with a million critical remarks for writing a poem in which some politician (ANY politician) were the "happy ending" to ANY scenario. There is so much political bullshit going around here about the virus (many people say the official numbers are fake & the president's lies should be believed, instead) -- so it's hard to read this & not laugh. Lots of people believe what certain politicians say, but many other people think they are stupid for following blindly. I love the heart of what you're saying & I admire your innocent way of seeing your leader. But I have to show you how your message compares to all the lies & ignorance that's going on & which endangers many people's lives. In the USA, in just a few months, we have had TWICE AS MANY DEATHS as in the Vietnam War (which lasted 16 years). This much death requires us to be intelligent & not just follow our leaders (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie
