Poe and I

Poe and I

Staring up at the towers of books i had placed on my table, surrounding me

Feeling the awe build up inside of me, so many words, genres, authors

I uncap my pen and open my notebook, waiting for ideas to flood my mind

Nothing.

I open up the books, seeing if the Greats could inspire me.

Nothing.

I was frustrated, pulling at my hair.

Then someone pulled up a chair next to me.

It was Poe, himself.

He said nought a word, just passed me black feather.

The tail feather, to be exact, of a Raven.

Then, like dam breaking, the ideas flooded my mind.

I became so absorbed in my thoughts

That i didn't see him smile and then walk away into the library

Then fade into nothingness

Leaving an inspired young girl in his wake.
