RegretsA Poem by InfiniteInk
Thump, thump
Like the flicking of bad children, My heart beats to the rhythm of your name. I gave you my love, Like candied hearts, But you swallowed them whole, No second thought. I reshaped my form, But you said you didn't want play-doh anymore. None the less I kept my resolve and pursed, After the rose whose scent had me wooed, But you spun and ran until I said whew. You cut my veins, Drained my love, Before I could curse your name, With soft spoken words. You kissed my lips to taste my blood, You walked away to let me die, But little did you know, Lust stitched my wrists, Now I just follow your guilty cry.
