Recognition of a Kindred Spirit

Recognition of a Kindred Spirit

A Poem by Corinna Bridgebury

Where have your eyes been,
that I have never seen them before?
Dark and rich and deep
Full of words I never guessed at,
Words you never showed me.
A passion we both have, but never shared.
I must have known all along, deep down
Below consciousness, that this was there.
Where were you keeping this soul?
Why did you hide it away?
When this was all that I ever wanted,
this connection of words,
Someone who understood!
