Guest Log - Mission Day 762, PT 12:34A Chapter by Darius Greeves"Awake"The first thing I
felt when I woke up was the cold. I had rolled out of my cryopod onto the
titanium floor, and I could feel the grooves on my hands and knees. I
spluttered the liquid out of my lungs and started to shiver. That’s when a
machine, hinged to a beam in the centre of this cylindrical room, swivelled
over to my position and placed a blanket on me. It explains that its name is
ECHO; Environmental Clinical Health Operator. It tells me it is here to keep
the ship running as smoothly as possible. I should explain at this point; I am
on a ship, in space. ECHO tells me the ship’s name is Prophecy I. I ignored the
machine’s advances and stumbled over to the console at which I now sit, typing
this. In my head are a number of questions; why am I the only person on this
ship? How do I know these things are cryopods? How do I know I’m inside a
centrifuge? How do I know the steady drum I can here is the sound of the oxygen
pumps? Currently, though my most pressing concern is this: Who am I? Who. The
F**k. Am I? It appears I need to end my log with a name. For now I will simply
use “Me”. Over and out. Me © 2016 Darius GreevesAuthor's Note
