I didn’t know forever could fade so quickly...

I wish for your laughter, a spark in the rain,
Though I know such a glow is not mine to attain.
i dream of your voice, a whispering breeze,
Yet you are a star, far from these.

I long for your touch, a warmth once true,
But now all I have are memories of you.
Wait! Am I even allowed to dream of you, so high above?
Who knows, maybe I can�" What's left for me but love?

Your shadow lingers, though you're not near,
A quite reminder, a whisper I fear.
The world keeps on turning, but I stand still,
Caught in the echo of a love that won't heal.

Where did it go wrong, or was it ever right?
Was I at fault, or was it fate out of sight?
No, you could never be wrong, so divine, so pure,
How could you be the reason, when I'm so foul, so impure?

I knew it was me from the start, the one to blame for the hurt,
But I don't know where I went wrong, or why I couldn't avert.
Was it because i loved you more than my own life?
Or was it that I cared too much, caused all this strife?
I never knew loving you could be my foolish curse.

I stand here broken, buried beneath the ruins of the story we wrote,
Haunted by memories, with their weight gripping my throat.
Your love that once healed me, now tears through my soul,
Leaving nothing but scars where my heart was whole.
And though I’m torn apart, I could never blame you, my dear
