My Body

My Body

A Poem by Indigoshadows

My home.
The quiet safe haven--
Withdrawn from the clamour of the world
Listening to the harmony
Of heartbeats and breathing.
More than a dwelling...
My temple.
Sacred place of peace--
No admission to the masses.
Respect and honour
A thing of the present.
Yet more than the present...
My soul.
Beautiful eternal being--
I'm intertwined forever,
Taken up again in rebirth.
The truth one craves to change...
Half Lie--
Lay down your life for others.
Thirst--
To lay me down for you
And to feel my innermost walls.
Immersed--
In your aching need
To stake your claim
And to change...
Mine--
Into--
Yours.

A real view... of the "risk" to be taken.
