Fear

Fear

A Poem by Indigoshadows

Lay down your arms.
Don't fight my charms.
-You beg and you plead.

But I've been hurt before,
And I'm just not sure.
Am I a want or am I a need?

Your lips whisper love,
But your eyes scream lust--
A burning fire to feed.

Your thoughts live unknown.
My heart's hard as stone,
Afraid that it might bleed.

Trust is earned - not given. Lust IS real and the "moment" is often confusing in its power.

This one speaks uncertainty and mistrust. Forever caught up in a storm of love and lust and torn between being wanted or needed. It does lead one to turn their heart to stone, best protected than living in fear of the unknown.
Interesting write. I like the almost haunting quality to it.
