Firestorm

Firestorm

A Poem by Indigoshadows

Obsessed.
With the pounding of the rain.
It beats within my breast
As the flood waters
Threaten to rise.
I want to drown in you.
Abandon the safety net--
And inhale your scent.
Tame this burning heart
In your cool calm.
Unquenchable fire
Longs for the sea.

A portrait of passion. Good use of storm imagery to represent uncontrollable emotions. Last two lines quite moving, a nice way to end the work.
