Heart Waker

Heart Waker

A Poem by Indigoshadows

I was in a restless sleep
Hidden from all kind.
Numbness overshadowed pain
To which I was so blind.
Unseen, I had hid so well,
But you saw me for who I am.
Brick by brick, you took down my wall
And reached out for my hand.
Heart Waker-- A word from you
Brings an unsteady beat
Back into my heart.
And although I want to hit repeat--
We each must play our part.
Heart Waker,
You've cut me to my core
And exposed me to my needs--
A hungry heart wanting more
Than tired apologies.
Heart Waker,
You've ignited a spark within my heart,
And I'm forever changed.
But this love must depart.
Although a piece has remained.
Paths have crossed
And paths go on
And though the road's unseen,
I feel the journey's better
Since you walked into my dream.
