Good EnoughA Poem by Riley Jules
That night I saw it in your eyes for the very first time,
a mixture of infatuation and lust. You seemed to look right at me instead of through, yet our eyes didn't meet for you made me unable to look at you. I knew you were it, I knew you were the one, that for somebody I was finally good enough. You called me beautiful and you held me close, praying that I could just stay a little longer. But we were from two separate worlds and I had to go home back to mine, knowing that distance nor the differences between us could keep us apart. It was amazing for awhile, everything I could have dreamed. I had run up and down the streets screaming out to the sky that I was in love with you. That I loved only you. That you could have been up there with the stars or perched on top of the moon looking down on me, and even that distance would have meant nothing. So why did you stray? Where did you go? Why did you leave me all in love on my own... Only to set sail to an unknown destination after I finally felt good enough... © 2013 Riley Jules |
