The General sits, unaware that the Captain lay awake in the room adjacent, plotting the General’s untimely demise.

The General is also unaware that the Corporal is plotting the demise of the Captain.

All of these individuals are unaware that a bomb has just been dropped by the enemy directly above them.

The enemy is unaware that the bomb is broken and will fall to no immediate harm, exploding instead some 20 years in the future, killing two dozen school children on a tour of the spot of the double murder that ended the war.

This is great, and the punchline comes quick. Id like to see this played out into a 200pg novel.
