Unrequited Love

Unrequited Love

A Poem by Girl in a tree
"

Well, I've met someone recently who I have grown to like very much. Until last night, I didn't realize just how much I liked him, but unfortunately, he has a long distance girlfriend.

"
For your happiness, this pain I'll endure
Oh for you, my unrequited love I'll ignore
I will keep my distance
And in the instance that I no longer yearn for you,
I swear to you eternal friendship
I will always adore you in a way
But not in the way I do now
The way I do now brings aches and pains
It strains on my heart when you talk about her
She is miles and miles away
But still, your loyalty will never stray
You have no idea and never will about this inner war
This turmoil, this struggle to keep my emotions in check
