Some questions will remain unanswered forever.

Where are you?
Where did you go?
In just span of seconds you gave us such a blow
We cried we prayed
We didnt leave you, we stayed.
We thought it was a bend
We didnt know it was the end.
For this change as we bravely brace
Tell us who will fill this vacant space?

Who will say what you said?
Who will sleep on your side of the bed?
Who will sit on your dining chair?
Who will substitute for your love and care?

How are we supposed to live without you?
We still cant believe that your are gone
We hoped it was a nightmare but its true
To this dark night, when will there be a dawn.

Your cold stillness didnt scare me
Its the thought of your absence that does
You may not be with us today
But your  memories are safe with us.....

A very moving peace! This took me back 7 yrs when I held my dad’s hand as he fell into his final sleep, until the resurrection. The questions left in the wake of loss, the emptiness and the realization that the stillness of that final sleep is not Scary. I love it.

Yes, these are questions that always haunt us. There is a huge gap in our lives when someone leaves. There is a hollowness and void that can't be filled. We can only learn to live with that empty space, we can't fill it back in the way it was filled by the missing individual.
