A Wonderful DayA Poem by Philip FranklinYes it was a wonderful dayA Wonderful Day By Philip Franklin It was a wonderful day I had passed my exams I walked tall and wanted to play My friend suggested a drink and a meal To celebrate our mutual achievement It did not seem real We had our meal Then drove to my wood My place of solitude and damnation But that night a place for elation The stars shone unnaturally bright Or so it seemed to me My friend took me in her arms And said well done, you have won the fight I still remember that night When the stars shone unnaturally bright The smell of her and the woodlands scent To know somehow that were meant
