Retrieving The Heart

Retrieving The Heart

A Poem by Ina

I'm nobody else now
sitting in front of a mirror
today I'll be no pow
I'll be no more that w***e
it keeps me thinking though
what will happen then
I feel time flowing slow
and all the stares from men
past life illusions appear
digging holes through my brain
casting upon me the biggest fear
of stepping backwards once again
I cannot take it anymore
I desperately need a fresh start
for what I want to be and swore
I'll be retrieving the heart
