Promises

Promises

A Poem by Jon Miller
"

Poem about covenants with god for my religion class

"

When I kneel to pray to my father above

I thank him for my family, my blessings and signs of his love

When I entered the waters and entered his house

I knew firsthand what his plan was about

Promises of love, charity, and to share my light

To others and my family is no small plight

Sitting on a fence is no way to live life

Adventures are ok as long as you are on the path of right

Following the footsteps of his plan ensures

That all these covenants I made are pure

Though I may stub my toe along the way

I know the lord eases the pain

Endure, endure, endure the world

So that I may reach those pearly white gates

As a welcomed and loved Child of God
