The Finding Of FriendsA Poem by PandaaThe Panda A lost little panda growing
up all alone, Sits thinking on a log, still
like a stone. Having dreams and seeing them
stall. Knowing that one day he would
fall; Until he looked up and saw
three lights, All distant at first but soon
growing bright. The Hawk A tired young hawk alone in
the skies, “The clouds float freely by,”
she cries. She flies free enough but is
held by fear “Away! Away! I must be away
from here” In the distance she sees a
little gleam, She flies to the light and
then she beams. The Wolf A wandering wolf looks at the
lonely moon, She wonders why it hangs
there in the gloom. And why it never gives off
its inner light, Just sitting there trying to
brighten the night. In the distance she hears a
fading call, She heads to the source with
hope after all. The Cat A calm cat makes her way
through the day, Looking for a nice new place
for her to stay. From door to door she goes to
and fro, Not living large but staying
down low. She catches a scent that
draws her to a place, Where the air is nice and
there are mice to chase. The Meeting The lost little panda sitting
alone on a log, Deep within the center of a
self made bog. Looks up when wings beat the
summer air, On the log beside him a hawk
sits there. Then a wolf wanders to his
side and howls, A sound so happy that a cat
soon follows. The End The Panda still sits there,
though no longer alone, The log is finally full like
a four person throne. The old bog dried up, and the
fears did fade, The call was answered and a
home was made. So now in the warmth the
friends still sit, Each no longer alone and each
glad for it. © 2010 Pandaa |
