KineticA Chapter by Scott ChristianA poem about being patient; about learning from the past.
It stood upon the edge
staring down into the abyss below--unknown It pondered the meaning of such an edge; the purpose of such an abyss--heeded It shrank back from both For to dream of dreams thus far away Can sometimes lead the mind astray Life is slow and subtle at times 'tis easier to ignore, avoid 'twixt the lines Though we don't always like what we see There's always one inevitability Life works out, one way or another It gazed out up over the horizon unsure of direction, of cause--noble? It looked down into It's hands; clasped a key, gold, yet worn--knowledge For wisdom cannot be had without failure Nor experience without kinetic tenure All that we are and all that we will be Is unlocked by a worn and wearied key It smiled briefly and turned away from the edge and abyss--wisdom © 2010 Scott Christian |
