Come to the Tree

Come to the Tree

A Poem by Riley

Are you coming?

You said you'd meet me there.

Are you coming to the tree?

Of course I will you said.

You said you'd meet me there.

    But you're not here.

    I'm waiting for you.

You said you'd meet me there.

At the tree where we first met.

    So many things we've done.

You said you'd meet me there.

    Where all the memories begun.

    You're still not here.

You said you'd meet me there.

    Can't you hear my plea?

    Please come to me.

You said you'd meet me there.

    Where might you be?

    I love you so much.

You said you'd meet me there.

    Don't you love me too?

    Won't you answer me?

    Won't you come?

You said you'd meet me there.

    Right at the tree.

But I'm the only one here.

Just the wind and the starlight.

Your little angel is getting cold.

    Can't you come warm me?

You said you'd meet me there.

    You said it, I swear.

I love you, I love you.

    Please come to the tree.

You have me worrying you won't show.

You said you'd meet me at the tree.
