I know... It should be Just you and I.... but I like you and me... lol.... Written to my best friend... if she is still is....

We were happy once

Just you and me...

We were happy once

as happy as anyone could be

 

Your smile has faded

so has mine

just like our hair color

and the smell of pine

it's faded with time...

 

Our friendship changed

as much as our hair

pink, purple, brown, black, red

short, medium, long

Our friendship has changed

since he's decided to stay...

 

He took my smile

what little was left...

he then brightened yours

and mended your sores

he took my best friend away

what more is there to say?

 

We were happy once

Just You and Me

now you've forgotten

how good our life was

Just You and Me...

Now with your new found boyfriend

please just some day...

Very nice. Its amazing how people can change, and leave us, or how easily things can just drive people seperate ways. Whether its gradual or not, it can always be painful to see a close bond tear away. "Best Friends Forever": Forever is not within our control. It should be, BFFALAWNEO. Lol... Best friends for as long as we need each other. Because that is how it ends; when one or the other no longer needs the other. We move on, and more people come into our life. Some people are there for a short while, some for a long while, but everyone we meet passes through our lives for some reason or another, and when they leave, even though it might be hard, they leave for a reason. That reason may be that they have finished and fullfilled their purpose, or maybe your purpose for being in theirs has been done, or maybe you are supposed to learn something from the end of it. But as long as they are in your life, enjoy them there.

Oh boy hehe. Yep, i Think i know exactly what ur sayin here. Yea, i hate it when a person is such good friends with the other person, and when one of them either get a bf or a gf; then that friendship starts to drift away. Now, im not sure if they're are scared to continue the friendship with that person because that bf or gf is there in their lives, or it's because they just dont want to be friends at all, or somethin. It just suks when that happens :( If that ever happens, then i wouldnt call them 'real' friends. Hope that's what u wanted to convey; forgive me if im way off lol. Very thought-provoking piece hun. *Hugs*

I like this poem. It has feeling, and it's also easy to relate to. I actually went through a similar situation not too long ago, but luckily we were able to bring back our friendship. But anyway, great poem. Keep writing!

It's hard when a friend goes a different direction when a new significant other comes into the picture. I've gone through that more times then i can count. I feel the pain and lonelyness that happens.
All i can say, is that if they truly are a best friend, then they will make time for you as well.
Untill their colors show though, all you can do is have faith, and never give up on them.
