Say Your Goodbyes

Say Your Goodbyes

A Poem by *~Imperfectly Me~*

You ask me why

I answer you

You simply have no clue

Look at me

The tears start to form

I want to flee

Just leave me be

See these tears

Hear my words

Look at my scars

Open your damn eyes!

Can you see them now?

Do you see my pain?

Look into my eyes

Now please just say your goodbyes...

To look into another's eyes is to look into their soul. It is said the eyes are the widow to the soul. Most people can not look into another's eyes, for they fear that what is reflected.

They see their own fears...so they do not look.
They hear their own words...so they do not listen.
They feel their own pain...and the scars return.

You have written what you feel and that takes courage.
Congratulations! Well done!

Nicely done. I have a few that I would like to send this too, unfortunately most are illiterate Philistines. I'd say it was short but sweet and to the point. Well done indeed.

sometimes the long goodbye is not goodbye at all, but a prolonged chance for new hello. yet left to long unnoticed it becomes unescapeably a goodbye by default.

I see your pain and acknowledge it. You have a courage of words that convey your innermost thoughts and feelings. I embrace the beauty of who you are and wish for you a journey that leads to a world where your deepest desires are manifest that you may discover your destiny and celebrate the magnificence of your soul.

Great poem.People who don't care for other's feelings should be taught a lesson. They don't even know how much pain they cause.hmph!!
Anyway, the poem's great (as usual, AH! I'm tired of repeating)....
Keep it up!!!

I agree with Daniel. Abusive people don't want to open their eyes in fear they may see what they have done. To listen means they have to hear the pain in your words. This piece is very well written and flows effortlessly. What makes it special is it obviously comes straight from your heart.

Good job Kristy, I really like this peice.
Whatever it is that this means to you, I kinda found it to be like how i could have broken up with someone. Just how painful it is, and how it takes courage to finally let them know how you feel, and you want to flee, you want them to leave, but to still understand. But they may never quite know why you felt you had to do it. This is really amazing.
