Confession.

For three weeks there was a 'for sale' sign on a two story house outside, and Mary would always stare like it was the most interesting thing in the world and this time it was, it was better than all the other stares. Mary sighed, what she saw was another change in the population. New neighbor's were moving in, and the bad thing was, they had kids. Mary put on her shoes and grabbed her bag, and went outside, walking half a mile to her bus stop. Standing there was Alex, "Have a fun weekend?" He asked, smiling and twirling Mary's hair in his hands, like always. Mary didn't say anything, she looked back and then forward to the short, six seated, bus. Mary nodded to the bus driver and Alex and Mary took a seat next to eachother. Mary expected the bus to take off immatdiately, but no. Mr. Dan didn't take off, he waited just a little more. Soon, a beautiful, five foot nine, with freckles and very light brown hair, girl got on the bus, Mary took it that she was the new girl going to Valiegh highschool, too. Alex smiled at her and watched where she sat. Mary looked at him, how he reacted. Alex turned back to her, Mary, and held her hand. Mary did not take it away though. She was too deep in thought to do anything, she frowned as the forests moved with everything else.

When all three got off, Alex introduced Mary and him to the new girl, "Natalie," She replied. Mary smiled and waved and watched as she walked off. Alex smiled and watched, too in amazement, somehow she couldn't believe him, how he could be so flirtatious and not care about the people around him. Mary shook her head and went to her locker, leaving Alex behind. She did not like him still though, or did she? When Mary was still in deep thought, she was thinking about him. He was always around her, and she was always around him, where ever they went, they both went together as one and not two. Mary sighed as she walked in the toxic halls of highschool. She looked around, everything was not grey, it was blue and pink, and green and every single color in the world. Mary wondered how, how everything changed except girl. How could people just change because of one person? Mary finially stopped thinking and noticed she was in the wrong class, and she showed up ten minutes late with Alex worrying about her.

"Where were you?" He asked.
"I was thinking.."Mary replied, smiling weakly. Alex stared at her and never turned away. He could see that whatever she was thinking, was affecting her. Mary looked at him, "I can't think when you stare like that."
"Sorry, but I..I just can not help it." Alex said softly, and turned his gaze to Natalie. Natalie looked at her notebook, she did not look up at Alex or anything else. She was quiet and strange just like Mary and thats what Alex saw. Alex chuckled and continued to bug Mary and do part of his work, and manage to get it done by lunch. After those, long, tiring periods, came lunch. Mary sat at her orinigal table, along with Alex and some other girls that never stopped to like him, giggled as they talked loudly about him. Alex shook his head in disbelief. Mary watched and shook her head, too, laughing.
"They will never leave you alone, will they?" Mary asked, finially talking. Alex looked at her wide-eyed like it was the first day of school, and just thinking about that he couldn't help but to have butterflies in his stomache. He laughed.
"I guess so..I'm just so..Amazing, right?" Alex joked.
"Mmm..Sure. I still haven't fallen for you, though." Mary replied, eating her PB&J and finishing her apple. Alex was silent and then looked up, behind Mary. Natalie stood with her tray and a full lunch in her hands, looking over at the two of them. She couldn't help but sit with them and enjoy their own arguements about liking eachother. Mary turned around, meeting his gaze and smiled, "Wanna sit?" Mary managed to ask. Natalie nodded and sat next to Mary, eating slowly and slower each bite she took from her peice of Pizza and slushie. As lunch went on, so did the conversations. Mary and Natalie were almost twins, except the fact that they didn't look like eachother, but almost everything was similar. Natalie soon, became Mary's best friend in one day, and that just changed her life without Alex.
 ***
As the day went by so quick, Mary couldn't help but ask Natalie if she wanted to come over. Natalie nodded, "My parents work late anyways." She said. When the last bell rang for everyone to go home, Alex was no where to be found, but he did appear on the bus. Mary frowned at him, as then sat with Natalie they chatted about football players and Riley and everything else that happened today. Sometimes Alex would laugh or comment on their weird stories and other things, but most of the time he was quiet. When everyone got off the bus, Alex took Mary's hand and Natalie backed away like she was stealing her or something.
"Are you two going out?" Natalie asked, curious. Mary stopped holding his hand, and Alex leaned in to kiss her, but missed and whispered in her ear, "Yes." Mary shook her head and jumped two feet ahead.
"No!" Mary exclaimed, about to jump someone or something. Her face turned bright red like she was blushing, but actually, she was angery. "Why would you think that? Alex is like..A very good friend. Even though, he wants  me to go out with him and all."
Alex smiled, "Mary, I know you like me." Alex said.
"I've only known you for a month, Alex. I swear, Natalie, I do not like him at all."  Mary said, and started walking much slower.
"Mmm..Okay." Natalie said, looking at Alex and laughed.
"I love you, Mary." Alex said, and smiled.
"Thats nice." Mary replied, and stuck her tongue out. Alex frowned, and disappeared and went to his house, deep into the woods.
"Where does he live anyways?"
Mary laughed, "In the woods." Mary teased, "No, actually..He has this huge crush on me..And.. He walks with me everyday where ever I go..And well, yeah..He lives another street over."
"Oh."
For two hours Natalie and Mary did boring stuff, but to them it was so awesome. they did homework, watched a movie, and called random people and then shouted, "Moo!" At them. Mary never felt this close to anyone, besides Alex. A big smile showed on her face and was glued there. Natalie couldn't help but ask her this in person without Alex there.
"Mary, tell me the truth..Do you like Alex Rale?" Natalie asked.
"Do you?" Mary asked, "You keep asking me this..So do you?"
"Well..I asked first."
Mary couldn't help but think. She couldn't help but think this whole day about her feelings for him. It took her a two whole great minutues of her time, "I do not like him." She said, and smiled, "I love him..I'm addicted to him. He's my heroine..You know? Like I can't live without him..He has to be in my mind, holding my hand or something..I love Alex Rale. I wish we were together, but he can't be. Alex is not the one for me. Do you see him? Do you see the way he looks at girls? It's like their his favorite candy!" Natalie listened. Mary stopped after Natalie had to go, but she thought about what she said. She never really told anyone what her true feelings were.
Before Mary went to bed, she promised she wouldn't act like she hated him anymore. Because before she could act like every other girl, he was always her friend, first. She smiled at just the thought, and soon went to bed dreaming of him.
