Lucy

Lucy

A Poem by paperdaydreams
"

My friend Lucy sadly passed away yesterday <3

"
Our tears illuminate raven skies
As the lanterns carry the goodbyes
The words we never got to say
We were saving for a far off day
Too precious, too young,
More than just another among
The filed statistics on a page
Your name, your end and age
But you would not simply accept
The inked full stop as we all wept
For I know up in the clouds
Lucinda's bakery will flock endless crowds
Whisking our laughter and our tears
When speaking of your sixteen years
Those memories, we cannot forget
Lucy, the girl, who touched all she met

A touching, loving tribute. Flows well and the rhymes contribute much to the rhythm. Great syntax.
