My Salvation

My Salvation

A Poem by Imladrisbound

MY SALVATION

Gentle and cool is the wind which blows gently through my tresses.

Sparkling and bright are the stars which shine over head.

The branches of the rowan which I sit under, sway gently from the wind.

Sitting here, I ponder the darkness of my life

All is not lost, do not despair, some have told me,

Lo! A beacon of light pierces the gloom of my chaos.

Oh cruel fate, do not taunt me so.

For I see the ray of hope,

But know in my mind that there is none.

Doest mine eyes deceive me?

Am I to have hope once again?

Or am I to hope and have my prayers unanswered.

Am I to have my spirit broken once more ?

Ai! My spirit will be whole once again.

For my beacon of light, my hope is true!

For all that I was made to suffer through,

For all that I have endured, it was not in vain.

For my hope, my salvation comes toward me even now.

As I look into the bright blue eyes of the one who will save me,

I know that I am saved.

Glorfindel, my Glorfindel, he smiles gently down upon me,

Then pulling me into his embrace, whispers words of longing and devotion.

All is not lost, there is always hope.

He has found me, here in Imladris,

When only a few hours ago, I was not here in Arda.

Fate it seems has sent me home, my true home.

To find my salvation, and my love.

I am saved, we are saved.

We have each other for the rest of time.

There will be no more despair.
