My Words

My Words

A Poem by Paradoxical

You took them
Right from my mouth
Threw them on the ground
And stepped all over them

You killed them
Put out my dreams
Crushed underfoot
Said they were worthless

Well I don't think they are
So I'm taking a stand
Against you, against the world
You will never put me down

If you don't like them
Then leave me alone
Let me dream, let me speak
As I have the given right

You will never win me over
I will always fight back
I'll say what I want
For they're my words
And I will speak them

If someone rejects your words they reject your life. This poem describes the process of deciding we have worth and a right to speak up whether in writing or otherwise. Well written.

About
I write because it is my dream to be a writer and I enjoy it. I can pour my heart into a poem or a story and make it as artistic as I want. It's a beautiful thing to have the words to express myself w.. more..
