Chapter Six: CapturedA Chapter by Imagination-mageJustin
returned back home at the end of the day, of course his father wasn’t home. He
was welcomed to blackness so he switched on the lights. He was welcomed to an
empty house of course, which didn’t surprise him. It was still a little too,
quiet since Beck ran away. Normally he’d be welcomed to Beck cooking some sunny
side up eggs and toast for dinner with heavy metal music but now all that
welcomed him. “I’m home…” Justin called force of
habit. He tossed his bag in his room and started to cook himself dinner. After
the food was prepared he made his way to the T.V. where he flipped it on and
America’s Funniest Home Video’s were now on. He turned it up, wanting to enjoy
the moment of mind numbing T.V. before his priest of a father returned home. He
laughed all school and family problems disappeared as he digged onto the past
he made. He was enjoying himself till he looked outside, finding a pair of eyes
watching him. He blinked and they were gone. He set down his food and
approached his window, looking out. What the hell was that? Justin questioned. Just
the, something slammed against the window and made him jump back and land on
his behind. Something screeched at him, making him completely frozen in fear.
The black figure soon zoomed away and everything was quiet. Justin felt his
heart, he hadn’t felt his heart race that fast since the incident in the woods
when he was five….the fiery red anthro that wanted his flesh….plummeting to his
death….the unknown creature that saved him. “It can’t be…” Justin muttered;
sweat rolling down his face and his heart beating twice as fast. He forced his
now paralyzed body to stand as he slowly made his way back to the window. He
touched it and expected the worst. He grabbed the latched and pulled open his
window, sticking his head out. He felt the night air blowing by his face and
the sound of rustling leaves fill the air. His heart calmed down, going back
inside and closing the window. His house went quiet again, the sound of the
T.V. cracking jokes and animated laughter filling the silence. “I-I was just seeing things.” Justin
said, trying to convince himself. He went back to the couch and continued his
dinner. He finished up his chores and walked
around his empty house. He went for the ring that now dangled from his neck and
gave it a tight squeeze, finding comfort in it. He came to his room and dragged
his bag to his desk where his laptop remained open. He shut it down and packed
it away in its case, pulling out his history book now and doing his homework on
the American’s revolution. He turned on his lamp and started to write final
report on the revolution. The Americans closed on the British,
George Washington leading them away as they made a sneaky retreat to the
waiting boats. Justin
wrote. He didn’t notice the bushes mysteriously rustle outside his window. He
hear soft tapping against it which made him turn back. His lamp started to
blink along with all other lights in the house. His door then started to open
and slam shut, repeating. He heard the blender in the kitchen roar to life and phones
ring. He covered his ears and went to the floor, huddling into a ball hoping to
block out the noise. Everything suddenly died down, a black out taking over his
house. He then heard footsteps. He gasped and grabbed for an iron
rod that was hidden under his bed. He gripped it tightly and held it close. The
footsteps arrived at his doorway, making him tremble as he heard the door knob
turn and the door being pushed open. “Hiccup….” The figure called. “Come
on out….” Feet
past by, they were in boots and had buckles all over. A sword was being dragged
behind the figure making Justin’s breathing hitch in his throat. A dog followed
the figure, panting and smelling at the ground. It was black with a bunched up
tail, red at the tips with electric blue eyes, red paws and slender body with
fire like bangs on its head. It sniffed at the air, soon barking. “Zorua what is it?” the figure
asked. It
whined, sneezing. “King Kazuma will not be please if
we return empty handed.” The figure said. The dog, known as Zorua suddenly
growled at the figure who only said “Don’t get all pissy with me yet, we need
the girl.” The
dog then froze, sniffing the air. Justin knew it had finally picked up his
scent. The dog spun around, biting into his shoulder and dragged him out.
Justin punched at the dog but was thrown at the figures feet. He looked up, finding
a boy who was his age loom over him. He had droopy, unkempt hair wearing a
bulky black jacket with chains all over. His sword was in his hand as he smiled
a wolfish smile. “’Ello puppet.” He said, rising his sword and stabbing Justin in the
shoulder. Justin’s eyes blinked awake as he
took in the surroundings. He felt dizzy and dazed as he tried taking in the
scene. “YOU IDIOT!!” an angered female
voice shrieked along with a slap echoing through his ears. Justin tried taking
in the background, finding himself in a cave like room, lanterns hung on the walls
and eating away the slowly approaching darkness. “How was I supposed to know?!” a
familiar male voice bellowed back. Justin became scared now, he tried sitting
up but felt a searing pain in his shoulder. He looked at his shoulder, finding
a needle between where his shoulder and collar bone connected causing horrible
pain spasms to circulate through his bones and muscle. He cringed, falling back
and remaining where he was. “Simple, you should know the
difference between a girl and a boy!!” the girl bellowed. “Ugh, Kazuma’s gonna
have a cow!” “Cake, calm down.” The boy soothed. “Calm down, calm down?!” The girl, cake bellowed. “He’s gonna have our heads!!”
Justin
spotted figures on the walls, their shadows reflecting on the wall. The two
were bickering over him, obviously mistaking him for someone more…feminine…. “Zeref, take him back before he
wakes up!” Cake bellowed. “Fine!” the boy, Zeref, said. Justin
remained absolutely still. The same boy who had the large sword came in, his
large sword resting against his back and his chains jingle as he moved. He tore
out the shot and it took all of Justin’s will power not to yelp. “Totally thought it was a girl….”
Zeref said. He looked closely at Justin before moving away and lifting him up.
He was about to walk into the light till Cake motioned him to go back. “What?!” Zeref nearly bellowed but
was shushed. “Xerxes’s here!” Cake hissed, Zeref’s
eyes widening in fear. “Go back, hide him!” Zeref
scurried back, placing Justin in a closet and closing it. Justin immediately
bolted up and let the door open, just a bit. “S-Sweetheart, h-how’ve ya been?”
Cake asked. Through the crack, Justin could see a tall boy with long grey hair
tied in a loose pony tail with his skin matching his hair but darker, a white
horn coming out of his forehead and his unusual blank, white eyes looked at the
girl Cake in suspicion. He crossed his arms, not seeming to believe the girls
greeting. “Wha-what?” Cake asked. Looking
closely, the girl had an hourglass body, having milk chocolate skin and wearing
a dress that hugged her body, merges of golden browns, whites and brown on her
dress, her hair matching with cat ears on top and a bushy tail behind her. She
smiled and she should feline fangs. “I smell blood.” The one named
Xerxes said, raising an unnoticeable eyebrow. “H-Huh?” Cake asked. “Blood….human blood.” Xerxes said. “What’re
you hiding Cake, another pet?” “What no, no, you’ve been in the
human world too long darling!” Cake said, giving the boy a peck on the cheek.
She moved on, the boy following. He spotted Zeref coming back in, sneaking in
and heading back to the closet. He opened it, finding a wide awake Justin. “You’re awake?!” Zeref whispered
harshly. “Y-Yeah…” Justin said. “What’s going
on here?!” Zeref
shushed him, taking him by the shirt and dragging him on. They made it past
Cake and Xerxes and came to a door. Zeref put a finger to his mouth and opened
the door, only finding Xerxes. “No human huh?” Xerxes asked,
grabbing Justin by the shirt and dragging him back in. He threw him on the
couch and said “What’s this?!” “W-We were gonna bring him back, he
was asleep.” Cake said. Xerxes glared making Cake flinch, her hair and tail
fluffing up to show her fear. She cowered behind Zeref who seemed equally
afraid. Xerxes turned back to Justin and asked “State yourself.” “J-Justin Haddock….” Justin replied.
Xerxes raised an eyebrow, looming over him and asking “Haddock….A Haddock?” “Y-Yeah….Taking after my mom’s side.”
Justin replied. He
turned back to the other two and said “That’s why?” “Y-Yeah; and because the bikers been
passing by his house more then other mortals.” Zeref said. Xerxes
looked back at Justin and asked “Have any siblings.” “Only a twin brother, but he’s gone.”
Justin replied, why am I opening up to
these complete strangers? “A twin, where?” Cake asked. “I-I don’t know, he ran away days
ago!” Justin said. “He,
no she?” Zeref asked. “You look just
like her though….” “Who?” Justin asked. Xerxes
looked at him hard and replied “Hiccup Sirius Haddock.” © 2011 Imagination-mageAuthor's Note
