Chapter Five

Chapter Five

A Chapter by Imagination-mage

Rylie continued her search for her friends in secret. She found herself at the house of Allen Walker, Rachel’s current boyfriend "though she always said they were friends- holding an orange folder in her hands. Her friend Dria was beside her as well, chewing gum as her hands were stuffed in her pocket.

“So, you think he can get us a ride?” Dria asked, her curly brown hair was in a high bun, all loose hairs kept together with a pink head band.

“Yeah, he’s the only one who can give us a ride.” Rylie said. In the end, Rylie’s mom couldn’t give a ride to California. She was about to ask Mr. Martin, their principle, if he could give the whole high school a ride. Rylie declined it, knowing asking her teacher would only lead to detention or being grounded. So she went to the only two people who were still looking for the missing teenagers as hard as Rylie was. Rylie rang the door bell again, the door soon opening to reveal a white haired boy with a scar going over his left eye, a star at the top, having gorgeous eyes and an inviting smile. He wore a short sleeved white shirt, paint splatters all over it and baggy sweat pants on.

“Hey Rylie, it’s been a while.” He greeted, his smile showed happiness but Rylie knew he missed Rachel dearly.

“Yeah it has.” Rylie replied. “Allen, I need a favor.”

Allen’s eyes went wide with wonder. He invited them in, revealing a spacious living room with a flat screen T.V. on the wall, weapons in a glass case and two sofas sitting diagonal of it, a coffee table in the center of it. Allen led them to the sofa asking “Want anything to eat?”

“No thanks, I’m not hungry.” Rylie replied. “Oh and this is our friend Dria from school.”

“Hey.” Dria said. “I’ve heard about you Allen.”

“It’s nice to finally meet you.” Allen replied. “Want anything to eat?”

            “Nah, I’m good.” Dria replied.

“Well, I’m gonna grab something light then.” Allen replied and disappeared in the kitchen which seemed to be their biggest room in the house. Rylie and Dria sat in the couch, feeling the silence really settle on them. Allen returned with a tray of food, a bowl of chips, five sandwiches on a plate (heavily stacked), a bowl of strawberries and pineapple, two chocolate bars and two sticks of dangos on a rice paper napkin. He set the tray down, a tall bottle of water under his arm which as placed on the table as well and began eating.

“You’re eating all that?!” Dria asked.

“Yeah…I have a fast metabolism.” Allen explained and continued eating. Before Dria could ask more, Rylie quickly asked “I need a ride to San Diego, California.”

“What about your mom?” Allen asked, now eating chips once his sandwiches were finished.

“Has a meeting so we can’t go.” Rylie replied.

            “Dad?” Allen asked.

“Of course he won’t let me go…” Rylie replied gloomily, soon leaning forward. “Allen, you’re the only one I know who has a car!”

Allen held up a finger and countered “Not me, Lavi has a car.”

“Then get Lavi to drive us!” Rylie said.

“Why do you need to go to California so bad?” Allen asked, raising his eyebrow.

Rylie sigh and replied “I think there’s someone there who can help us find the others…”

Allen remained silent, midway eating a strawberry. Soon he leaned back, eating away the remaining strawberry before calling “LAVI!!!”

“WHAT?!” Lavi replied, somewhere inside the house.

“COME HERE!!!” Allen replied. They remained in that silence for a while, till Lavi appeared from the hallway. His long hair was still unkempt and long, covering his bad eye, wearing a baggy shirt and tight pants under. He came forward, looking tired.

“What?” Lavi asked. “You know I just finished a test.”

“We need to borrow your car.” Allen replied, eating at his dango now that his strawberries were gone.

“Hell no.” Lavi replied, hands on his hips. He turned, finding Rylie and Dria.

            “Oh hello…” Lavi said.

“Lave please, we need your car!” Rylie pleaded.

“Why? Tell me why and we’ll see!” Lavi said.

“She says there’s someone there who can help us looking for the missing teenagers.” Allen said his mouth full. Lavi was silent, seeming to process it before asking “Huh?”

“Yeah, I-I think there’s someone there who can help us find Rachel, Jaya, Riley, Tallon, Siana, Yasmine and Sarah.” Rylie said. Lavi sat on the couch and continued “What’s your proof?”

Rylie took out the envelope, unfolding it and letting her laptop slide out.

“I had to smuggle it from my mom, she was worried.” Rylie explained. She turned on her computer and showed them the sight of the gaming competition. Lavi raised an eyebrow, not sure of what to think of it.

            “Uh…” Lavi mumbled.

“Kazuma Ikezawa.” Rylie replied. “He can help us…I think.”

“What makes you so sure?” Allen asked.

Rylie then told them about her mall encounter with Love Machine and Grell along with the unknown boy who screamed after saving her Find Kazuma! Allen had finished his food now and was wiping his mouth, draining down anything lodged in his throat with water.

“So you think this is the Kazuma?” Allen asked.

“Yeah, it’s got to be him!” Rylie said. “I need your guy’s help please…”

“We really need you guys.” Dria said.

Allen looked over at Lavi who seemed to be in deep thought.

            “It’s your call.” Allen said.

Lavi closed hi eyes, when he opened them his good eye drifted towards a picture of himself and Jaya going to an amusement, he had won her a large plush panda and she kissed him happily that day. He released a sigh and replied “When do we leave?”

“We’re not alone…” Kazuma mumbled the next morning over breakfast. He wasn’t as surprised at Yasmine when he found her gone, in fact he seemed as if nothing happened which aggravated Yasmine.

“I wanna strangle you…” Yasmine mumbled, glaring.

“What do you mean?” Tallon asked.

“We’re being watched.” Kazuma said, he rose and peaked through his blinds. The whole room remained quiet, waiting for something. Something suddenly zipped by Rachel’s ear, making her turn she found a dart sticking in the wall.

“They’re armed with blow darts.” Kazuma said.

            “What now?” Siana asked.

“Pair up.” Kazuma said. “We’re splitting up in groups of two.”

Riley clung to Jaya, Siana to Yasmine, Rachel to Bethany and Kazuma grabbed Tallon’s arm.

“There are a series of escape routs in this house.” Kazuma explained. “You’ll find it.”

Kazuma was the first out, disappearing through the ceiling with Tallon. Yasmine sighed angrily and said “Okay, let’s go.”

She found out that one of the panel walls were easy to pull off. Siana went in first and disappeared with Yasmine following, closing the exit. Riley found one down the hall behind a portrait, leading the way inside with Jaya close behind. Bethany had found one in one of the cupboards, helping Rachel inside and hoping inside herself. Once in, Bethany hoisted herself up and made her way inside. When everyone arrived on the other side of the house, they regrouped.

            “Everyone here?” Tallon asked.

“Yup, we’re all here.” Jaya replied, she made sure Riley was still clinging to her.

Kazuma peaked over the edge, only welcomed by brightly colored ninjas, all armed with blow darts. Kazuma cursed, suddenly bumping into Yasmine as she tried getting a glimpse herself.

“Move!” Kazuma hissed, pushing her back. Yasmine growled, slapping his arm. As soon as she did, the heavy shackles found their place on their wrists again, making them in a tight spot.

“Look what you did!!” Kazuma said.

“Oh shut up, like you care!!” Yasmine said back.

            “Uh…guys?” Rachel said.

“Why do you gotta be such an insensitive jerk?!” Yasmine yelled.

“Why do you have to be such a brat?!” Kazuma yelled back, Yasmine gritting her teeth.

            “Guys?” Rachel tried again.

            “BAKA USAGI!!” Yasmine screamed.

            “BAKA NEKO!” Kazuma screamed back.

“A******S LOOK!” Bethany bellowed, making the two turn and look up. The ninjas had surrounded them. They pounced, everyone readying themselves. Kazuma jumped, taking Yasmine with him and batting away one of the ninja’s by making the two collide heads.

            “OW!!” Yasmine screamed angrily.

“What do ya know, you’re useful.” Kazuma said a smug smirk on his face. Sarah slashed at one of the ninja’s, Bethany swiping a katana sword and using it for her own good. She stabbed one, slashing another behind her and kicking down one that dared tried taking her out overhead. Siana was suddenly grabbed, the ninja’s suddenly retreating. Yasmine had punched a ninja in the face until she heard the sound of her friend cry for help.

“THEY’VE GOT SIANA!!” Yasmine cried. Sarah jumped after her, but two ninja’s through smoke bombs at her, blinding her. Sarah fell on her front, rubbing her eyes as she tried getting her sight back. Siana bit one of the ninja’s but he wouldn’t budge. She suddenly saw something glow in the ninja’s pocket. Wiggling her hand into his pocket, she grabbed it and found a red orb which grew brightly in her hand. She was suddenly shrouded in the light, shocking everyone. When it faded Siana had changed, her level suddenly going up. Her green hair had shortened and she had changed clothes, wearing black pants and a leather black jacket, faux fur on the rim of the hood, a black hat on her head and large twin guns strapped to her back. She kicked one of the ninja’s in the side, making him release her arm and she went for one of the guns, pointing at the other ninja and saying in a heavy Swedish accent “Say hello to my little friends!!

She blasted at the ninja’s taking them out one by one, she landed swiftly on her feet, in a squatting position with the guns in both hands. The ninja’s fell like rain, thudding to the ground.

“Whoa, Siana that was legit!!” Tallon said.

“I know right!!” Siana agreed. “Meet Bob and his wife Mary.”

Yasmine raced to Siana and embraced her in a tight hug saying  “I THOUGHT WE WERE GONNA LOSE YOU!!”

“Yasmine your crushing me…” Siana mumbled. Yasmine released her and looked over at the ninja who were soon fading away.

“Love Machine’s close obviously.” Jaya said. “What now?”

“We have no choice…” Kazuma said. “We’ll be going to the Heart of Oz…”
