Chapter Fifthteen

Chapter Fifthteen

A Chapter by Imagination-mage

Sarah wouldn’t wake up the next morning but Yasmine didn’t seem to be worry since Sarah was still breathing. Brandt had heard about the encounter with Mickey and her mom, not all too happy that the two were nearly caught so he came up with a new rule.

“What do you mean I can’t leave the house?!” Yasmine asked over breakfast. She was about to tackle him in anger but she saw him begin to reach for the collar in the bag next to him. Yasmine sat back down and angrily ate at her food.

“You were nearly caught Yasmine, we can’t take any chances.” Brandt said. “Besides you’ll be staying for a couple more days before you have to return back to Edolas.”

“But Cilan will miss me!” Yasmine said angrily. “I’m sick of being treated like some hidden military weapon!”

“Yasmine there’s no other way, just stay put till further notice.” Brandt said, hearing Yasmine growl angrily. Yasmine’s ear suddenly perked up and her head went to the window finding Tiny on the window sill. Yasmine happily went to the small dragon who carried a medium sized package in his claws. Tiny climbed up her arm and began to talk to her in her ear. Brandt knew something was wrong when Yasmine’s anger began to be replaced with fear.

“Are you sure?” Yasmine asked Tiny who nodded. Yasmine kissed him and scratched him under his chin. He flew back out and left the package in her hands. Yasmine came across new clothes and smiled.

            “What’s wrong?” Brandt asked.

“I have to leave.” Yasmine said. “The dragons are becoming agitated and they’re waiting for my commands. Also there’s trouble for you.”

            “Which is?” Brandt asked.

“People from the Black Order are coming here because they received word that you were housing a dragon.”

Brandt cursed under his breath and Yasmine just fiddled with the clothes in her hands. Brandt went up to Yasmine and said “You need to hide Yasmine.”

“No I need to leave.” Yasmine corrected. The door suddenly knocked taking the two by surprise.

“Brandt you have guests!” a deep voice called.

“Oh gods its dad.” Brandt whispered.

“Answer then, he’ll know something’s wrong!” Yasmine whispered back.

“C-Coming just hang on!” Brandt called back and began pushing Yasmine away from the door. Yasmine clumsily knocked over his forging tools, mouthing sorry a million times to Brandt who picked them up. Yasmine flew up and Brandt answered the door with the hammers in his hands.

“Uh…uh…Hello ladies, um…what brings you here?” Brandt asked.

“Are you Brandt?” a female voice asked.

“Uh…yes that would be me.” Brandt said.

“Well we need to investigate your home.” Another female voice said about to walk inside but Brandt blocked her off.

“NO, I mean…it’s a mess in here. Believe me, girls as sophisticated as you wouldn’t want to see the inside of this pigsty.” Brandt said. Yasmine had managed to get up the stairs before Brandt was pushed inside about to scream till he found Yasmine gone. The two girls looked strangely familiar to Yasmine, she just couldn’t remember. The girls were only welcomed to a darkened room, weapons in hand and being cautious. Brandt looked relieved. Yasmine then raced by and accidentally knocked over a vase which shattered catching the two girls attention.

“What was that?” the girl asked, she had caramel skin and long black hair.

“My dog…Yeah my dog, he’s so bizarre.” Skye said with a chuckle.

“How bizarre?” the other girl asked, she had nice skin with brown hair reaching her back.

“Well…he climbs up the stairs a lot and drops everything.” Brandt said with a nervous smile.

“Fine….Show us this dog.” The caramel skinned girl commanded.

“Uh…I’m not sure that can be arranged.” Brandt said, scratching the back of his head. The caramel skinned girl pointed her scythe at his throat and said “Don’t scratch your head it’s disgusting.”

“Sorry, the dog ran away!” Brandt said. “Yeah, I saw him jump out the window. Ah man, that’s the third one.”

Yasmine was still up the stairs feeling something come up. She covered her mouth and felt like she was going to vomit. Yasmine tried lifting herself up and the three apparently heard the disgusting noise that was coming from her throat. Brandt spotted her and quickly pushed one of the girls out of the way. Yasmine spat something up and it hit Brandt in the face making him fall over. The two girls shrieked with disgust as Brandt went for a towel and said “Damn those trolls, always finding their way in.”

The two girls grabbed an arm and dragged him outside.

“You are arrested; it’s obvious you have a dragon!” the caramel skinned one said.

“No really, I don’t!” Brandt said. “You have no proof!”

“What’s this then?” the brown haired girl asked, holding up a black dragon scale. “It’s still warm so the dragons close and still here.”

“Hello, what chya doing?” said a voice from inside. Turning they found Yasmine standing there, looking human. Yasmine was scared but knew she had to stand up for Brandt.

“Do you know him?” the caramel skinned girl asked.

“Yup, he’s my best friend.” Yasmine said. “Aside from the ones I’ve lost…”

“Lost, you lost someone?” the brown haired girl asked, suddenly sucked in.

“Yeah, my friend Sarah and I were the only ones here. Brandt found us so don’t be mean to him!” Yasmine said strictly. She snatched Brandt back and hugged him in a massive bear hug looking like she would snap him in two.

“Sarah?” the caramel skinned girl said. “That’s one of our classmates.”

“Uh…what’s your name?” the brown haired girl asked.

“Oh…I’m Yasmine.” Yasmine said with a smile. The two suddenly tackled her with a hug, making Yasmine lose her balance and fall over. Yasmine seemed rather confused as she gently pushed them away.

“It’s us!” the caramel skinned girl said happily.

“Rachel and Jaya remember?” Rachel asked. As if longing for it, Yasmine burst into tears, hugging them both and sobbing on Rachel’s shoulder. The two hugged Yasmine as Yasmine sobbed.

            “What’s going on?” Brandt asked.

“These are the girls I was talking about!” Yasmine said, getting up and hugged Brandt as she continued to cry. Brandt patted her shoulder and Yasmine said “Wait right here!”

Dashing back inside and coming back out as fast as she had disappeared, in her arms was Sarah. Sarah slowly blinked open her eyes and her eyes widened.

“Jaya, Rachel?” Sarah asked. “IT WASN’T A DREAM AFTER ALL!”

Yasmine set Sarah down and Sarah hugged them both happily jumping up and down. Brandt was still confused and Yasmine leaned her head on his shoulder.

“You dreamt about us?” Rachel asked.

“Yes, I saw you guys fighting these serpent creatures but I thought you were dead.” Sarah said.

“She woke up screaming like every night thinking you guys were eaten or something.” Yasmine said. “Quite annoying when you’re trying to sleep.”

“Sorry Brandt we seemed to have been mistaken.” Jaya said. “We were told that a dragon was living with you.”

Yasmine, Sarah and Brandt’s eyes widened, looking at each other nervously. Jaya and Rachel caught their stare.

“Where is it?” Jaya asked, suddenly angry.

“Uh…you won’t like the answer.” Brandt said till he found Jaya’s scythe at his neck. Yasmine suddenly growled, her teeth looking more shark like all of a sudden and she crossed her arms, hiding her scaly hands and clawed fingers. Brandt patted her on the back to calm her down and said “Come inside, I’ll make you some tea.”

I hope the dragons win at the end if anyone wins the fight. Or maybe it's going to be a stalemate. Anyway, loved this chapter as always with all of your chapters.
