Sam heard the knocking, looking at the door blankly as if expecting it to open on its own.

“Sam, you know how to open a door.” Nicky said, she was drying her hands because she had just finished washing the dished. “Can you get it?”

“No…” Sam said, shocking Nicky when she heard his voice.

“You…spoke?” Nicky asked. Sam hadn’t spoken to anyone in the ten years they were together. Nicky then felt the vibrations at the door, suddenly her very soul felt cold. The human or thing outside gave off deathly vibrations.

“Go protect Lali.” Sam suddenly said, rising from his seat. Nicky went for Lali who was still asleep. Sam walked towards the door, taking the knob and opening the door. He was suddenly ambushed to the ground, grabbing hold of the blurry thing that tried following Nicky up the stairs. He pulled it down, head locking it. A scythe blade suddenly came swinging at him but he was able to duck. In the process he had released whoever it was and the blurring thing tried going for the stairs. Sam’s hair darkened, the purple flames surrounding him again this time growing larger. They launched themselves at the stairs, destroying them.

“Reveal yourself reaper.” Sam said, rather ghastly like a ghost. Three vertical black lines went down, over his mouth and down to his chin like a skeleton. The black covering was suddenly removed revealing Bubbles.

“So an earth boy thinks he can stop me?” Bubbles asked. She raised her scythe and swiped at the air, the wind suddenly picking up and a tornado going towards Sam causing him to slam into the wall. He growled, his yellow eyes gleaming and he took a deep breath, suddenly spitting out shot of fire which hit Bubbles in the shoulder. It lit her clothes on fire and she quickly patted it out.

A fire user? Bubbles thought. She lashed at Sam, the scythe blade only going through him like a mist. The room suddenly became cold, Bubbles capable of seeing her breath. The room darkened and hands suddenly broke through the floor, grabbing onto her and pulling her to the ground. Bubbles desperately tried getting up but her hair was grabbed and she was just brought down again. She raised her hand, a large ball of light formed in her hand till the house was struck by lightening, roof being blow off. The lightening lit the room, hitting Sam in the chest and causing him to crash into the wall, going through it and ending up in the yard. Sam laid there, unconscious with blood pouring down his eye. Bubbles picked herself up from the floor and dusted herself off.

“Up the stairs.” Bubbles said, then remembering that Sam had destroyed them. She strapped her scythe to her back and jumped up on the shattered remains of the staircase, soon reaching the second floor. She walked down the hall, sniffing the air. She came to a closed door, reaching out to the handle till a hand broke through the door and grabbed her around the neck. Bubbles tried prying the hand from her neck only to be thrown against the wall. Nicky kicked down the door and got herself ready, putting her fists up. Bubbles rubbed the back of her head, looking at Nicky with angered eyes.

“An earth user should’ve known!” Bubbles said.

“Leave this place.” Nicky said, her voice sounding dangerous. Bubbles only charged her scythe ready. Nicky held her fists up strongly, the bricks in the house suddenly being pulled away and latching onto her arm, acting like a shield at Bubbles’s attacks. Nicky kicked Bubbles in the stomach sending her through the wall and going after her.

Lali was suddenly blinking herself away at the sound of a blade scratching against stone. She stretched, realizing she was home. She sat up, rubbing her head as her vision began to come into focus. She looked around, her door was demolished and there were large scratch marks on her wall. Lali got up, investigating further. She found a large hole in the wall, the bricks missing and the pipe leaking.

“Nicky?” Lali called till she heard the sound of clashing weapons. She raced towards the window, finding a hole right next to it and found Nicky fighting a girl she had never seen before.

“Nicky?!” Lali called this time catching both of their attention.

“Lali, get out of here!” Nicky screamed, suddenly kicked in the jaw. The girl used Nicky as a support and grabbed at her hair, finding her footing on her shoulder and jumping up. She clung to the window, making Lali scream in sheer terror. Lali pushed herself away from the window, running towards the stairs which were demolished. The girl, Bubbles, broke through the window with her scythe raised.

“I’ve waited ten long years for this!” Bubbles said, swiping at Lali who ducked and jumped down the demolished staircase. She fell on her front, quickly getting up and running out the door. As she ran she spotted Kuro, returning to the house. She quickly ran into him, being embraced by him.

“What, what is it?!” Kuro asked as Lali tried pointing out the danger. The front part of their house suddenly erupted into flames, Kuro shielding Lali as she screamed. Looking up, he could see Bubbles coming through the flames. He quickly got up, pulling Lali up and pushing her ahead.

“Go, go, go, don’t you dare look back!” Kuro called as Lali ran into the forest. He got his mallet ready, Bubbles suddenly coming down from the sky and trying to slice at him, only being stopped when Kuro shielded himself with his mallet staff. He kicked Bubbles in the stomach and started swinging at her, trying to land a hit on her. Bubbles blocked his attacks with her scythe, suddenly spinning and hitting him in the side of the jaw. He fell to the floor, feeling Bubbles press her foot on his side. She raised her scythe and brought the blade down on Kuro, hitting his side. Kuro tightened his grip on his mallet and swung it at Bubbles’s ribs making her cry out as she felt her ribs snap. She fell to the side, Kuro putting his hand out and motioning the water to move with him. He threw it into the air, making it turn into large icicles and rain down at Bubbles. Bubbles rolled out of the way, the icicles sticking to the ground.

“DIE, WILL YA?!” Bubbles screamed angrily dropping her scythe, her fore arms and hands turning larger and into giant wolf paws. She put her giant paws out and a large hurricane hurled itself at Kuro, surrounding him. Thousands of scratches were left on Kuro’s body and he fell back, his eyes closed. Bubbles was breathing heavily now, putting her hand out and the scythe returned to her hand. Her hands returned to normal and she tried getting the feeling back in them. She sniffed the air, suddenly smelling something familiar. She smiled deviously, looking back at the house that was now in flames. She put her hand out and chided “Oh book~”

The death book appeared from the flames, zooming towards Bubbles’s open hand. She clasped it and it glowed brightly. Bubbles merely brushed her fingers across the lock and it flipped open, feeling the power pour into her. The scythe returned to what it looked like ten years ago, shining proudly and looking larger.

“Let’s kill that abomination.” Bubbles said and disappeared in a puff of smoke.
