![]() Chapter ThreeA Chapter by Imagination-mageAllen led the girls higher up the skyscraper, the loud voices fading as they went higher and higher. The room was suddenly dark and they came to a trap door. Allen took out a card, slid it into the slits of wood and the door popped open. Allen led them inside and said “Now, just keep your voices low, stay calm and don’t look Monarch in the eyes.” “You never really told us who or what Monarch is.” Jaya complained. “You’ll see soon enough.” Allen said. They were inside a hall, the walls coated with morning souls, groaning and trying to snatch at their clothes. Allen pushed them softly forward and said “I can’t go any further, just go up the hall and open the door. Don’t mind the souls they won’t hurt you.” Rachel slipped her hands in Jaya’s who squeezed her hands. They began walking forward, looking back at Allen who gave them an encouraging smile to go on. Rachel and Jaya made it to the door that strangely resembled the door that ate them, sending them to this world. Jaya traced her fingers on the door; teeth suddenly appeared on the crack and ate them. They were still tightly gripping each others hands, Rachel the first to open her eyes. Looking around, they looked as if they were in space. A woman stood in the room with them, wearing a butterfly kimono with big monarch butterfly wings on the bow. She was sitting down, her long black hair over her shoulder and she seemed to be brushing her hair. Jaya stepped forward, timidly reaching out. “Do not touch me.” the woman said, Jaya clenching her hand and backed away. “Are you Monarch?” Rachel asked. The woman stood and turned, her eyes were closed and she walked towards them. A shooting star passed, shadowing them with its bright light. “Yes, that is I.” Monarch said. She was in front of them this time. Her eyes were open and the two quickly looked to the floor. “Allen has brought you here, you’re late.” Monarch said bluntly. “Should’ve expected that though.” “Well sorry for missing our appointment, but we just want to find our friends.” Jaya said. “You mean Rylie, Bethany, Yasmine and Sarah, they no longer need you.” Monarch said, looking off into the stars. “They have made new friends by now, all destined to different things that involve killing one another.” “Kill, whoa I won’t be shocked if Bethany and Rylie lead an army but Yasmine and Sarah, I doubt it!” Jaya said, no longer afraid. “Sarah’s too pure of heart and Yasmine would probably punch the victim till he or she is knocked out.” “You think wrong Jaya Miller.” Monarch said strongly. “My fortunes are never wrong, I see all and all I see is true. Do not defy me!” “Well look whose being the b#@%&.” Jaya spat, Rachel clasping a hand over her mouth. “What was that?!” Monarch asked angrily, her hair rising and the stars blinking out. “Sorry, she is so sorry!” Rachel said quickly. “What we want to know is where they are and how to get home.” “There is no home.” Monarch said, calming herself. “But there is faith for you and your friends.” “Can you tell us where they are?” Rachel asked. Monarch shook her head no and replied “If I told you, you’d run away and put your own lives in danger. I will only tell you if you join the Black Order, the dragons have an upper hand.” “We’re fighting against dragons?!” Jaya said, ripping Rachel’s hand from her mouth. “We’re humans who are going against dragons, fire breathing lizards that swoop down and snatch all those who aren’t paying attention!” “This is why they must be exterminated.” Monarch said. “These dragons are killing off the human race, we need more comrades, we need the Ancients.” “Why does everyone talk about the Ancients anyway?” Jaya asked Rachel. “Because you two are Ancients!” Monarch said, she went to her knees and bowed to them. Rachel and Jaya looked down at her in shock, not really believing her. “Us, those awesome sounding beings who have the powers to control the elements?” Rachel asked. “I don’t think so.” Jaya said. “No Jaya, that probably explains that little wind incident when we escaped those serpent creatures.” Rachel said. “You encountered the serpent creatures?” Monarch asked, rising to her feet. “Well, yeah. Jaya had this moment when we were falling into this never ending abyss. She said she had a horrible pain and that scar appeared on her eye.” Rachel said. Jaya lifted her bangs from her eye, revealing the key shaped scar on her eye. Monarch came towards her, Jaya closing her eyes so she wouldn’t make eye contact, and examined Jaya’s scar. Monarch traced her finger over Jaya’s scar, feeling a sting when she touched it. “You are indeed one of the Ancients.” Monarch said with a smile. “How about you, Rachel?” “I’m not sure.” Rachel said with a shrug. “Well we’ll find out soon enough, please stay with Allen Walker; he will be your master until you are capable of using you Ancient powers.” Monarch said. “I want you to visit me to see your progress. You are dismissed.” The room moved quickly around them, Rachel and Jaya hugging each other finding themselves next to Allen who was in the library. Allen jumped when he saw them and said “Oh, your meetings done I guess?” “Yeah, Allen we need you to train us.” Rachel said. “Oh, okay. Well I guess I should get you guys to the seamstress then to get you guys fitted.” Allen said. “Follow me, again please.” * * * * Rachel and Jaya were brought to the sewing room where they were measured and asked what they wanted for clothes, they waited till their clothes were finally finished. “Alright, time for fitting!” said a hyper woman, throwing her arms into the air happily. Jaya was the first in, a curtain over her and clothes being thrown inside with her with matching shoes. When Jaya came out, she wore a long black dress that reached her knees and was torn at the bottom, black and white leggings on her legs. The dress was sleeveless with white fur around her shoulders because the dress revealed her chest. Her hair was completely straightened, down to her shoulder and black boots on her feet. Leather gloves on her hands and her face was cleaned of all dirt that was caked onto her face. “Jaya, you look amazing!” Rachel said. “Don’t I?” Jaya asked, twirling around so her dress would frill. “This dress is fire proof so it won’t burn when you fight dragons, there’s a secret compartment in the fur so you can gather samples of the monsters you’ll be fighting. Your weapons are being made by our blacksmith so master Allen will lead you both to your rooms.” The woman said. “Now, come this way Rachel.” Jaya stood beside Allen and Rachel went into the dressing room. Rachel was soon dressed in a black jumpsuit that stopped at her claves, the parachute pants tucked into her boots with a golden belt on her waist. A hood was on the back of her shirt and silver wristbands on her wrists. Last she wore bulky boots on her feet, tucking the frilly pants in her boots. “You look awesome!” Jaya said. “Can’t I have a different shirt?” Rachel asked. “No!” Jaya said, before they could make her another. “That suites her just fine.” “Alright then Master Allen, please take these two young ladies to their rooms please.” The woman said. Allen nodded and brought them up to their rooms, which was in on the second floor. The hallway contained nothing but seemingly never ending rooms that were a mystery to Jaya and Rachel. Jaya was brought to her room first, Allen a went inside her room, welcome to a king sized bed with a giant window, a ledge on the bottom so she could sit and observe the stars, a dresser against the wall and a bathroom as well, a red button on the wall with the word panic on it. “Press that button only for emergencies, well when the Black Order is coming down and everything.” Allen clarified. “Rachel and you can always visit any time you want to, just not at five a.m.” “Why not?” Jaya asked. “Monarch comes out at five and doesn’t like it when she’s spotted by anyone, you can only see her when you’re summoned to her quarters.” Allen said. Allen closed the door behind him and led Rachel to the room next to Jaya’s. The door opened welcoming Rachel to an endless bookshelf of books, a bed beside it and a dresser on the other side, a bathroom across the room with a window as well, showing her the land. Rachel walked in, sort of shocked to have a room all to herself. “Enjoy, same rules as I told Jaya, hope you were listening.” Allen said. “When I summon you, you’ll appear at my side okay so don’t be shocked.” “Um, okay…” Rachel said. Allen closed the door behind him and Rachel fell on her bed. Looking at the ceiling, the ceiling looked like the night sky. Rachel took a random book out and read through it. “Hope everyone’s okay.” Rachel said, looking out her window. She dropped her book beside her and fell asleep. © 2011 Imagination-mage |
