“Kuro you’re going too fast!” whined a fifteen year old girl, trying to make it up a rather tall and rocky mountain. Her friend was a rather handsome boy, standing on top of a large pillar and his electric blue eyes watching her as she tried pulling herself up. The young girl wore an old fashioned outfit wearing a long sleeved black shirt with a brown dress over, split on the sides so she could move around better, slightly baggy jeans and brown boots under. Her long blond hair was kept under a large sun hat with two different colored feathers around the rim, having a honey gold eye color, looking like pools because of the lines surrounding the pupil. As she finally made it to the top, the girl gasped for air, bending over and leaning on her knees to steady herself.

“This hike was uncalled for.” The girl whined again only receiving a punch in the head.

“You could do better now come on.” Kuro, her friend, said moving on ahead. He had unruly spiky hair with brown tips, wearing a baggy sweatshirt that was sleeveless and black jeans, skater shoes on his feet. His mouth always seemed covered by the turtle neck surrounding his neck. Lali groaned in frustration, following Kuro up the tall mountain that was known as Mt. Fuji. Lali suddenly slipped, falling forward and landing in the lushes green grass. She picked herself up, spitting out the grass that managed to get stuck in her mouth and wiped off the grass leaving little stains behind.

“Come on Lali!” Kuro scolded, Lali getting up and racing after him.

“Come on Kuro at least give me a break from all this!” Lali complained. “Today’s a special day.”

“There’s nothing special about a birthday Lali.” Kuro mumbled getting slapped in the back of her head. “Now come on!”

“Why’re we doing this exactly?” Lali asked, finding her place beside him.

“We got an order to retrieve a certain item and check something out.” Kuro replied, looking away. “They want us to check on the statue of the Reaper.”

“The Reaper, really?” Lali asked, not believing.

“Yeah, got a problem with it?” Kuro asked.

“Well I just find it weird how all the orders we get are about none existing beings and facts. Like last week we had to track down a rare crystal that was found in the Arctic, last month we went searching for weird berries that looked like rain drops, the month before that we found a series of old text books- which you forced me to read- and you even got me to go to the Nile to snag loose treasures. Who’re these clients anyway?”

“Look just be happy that these people allow us to keep some of the treasure to exchange for money and get us the food we need!” Kuro scolded. “At least Grandma BB encouraged us to do so…”

            “Don’t!” Lali scolded.

It had passed ten years since Lali’s mother was awakened. Three years later, their foster mother Grandma BB had suddenly come down with a horrible sickness. They didn’t have enough money so she passed away rather early. Lali like to pretend it never happened; it hurt too much.

“Oi, don’t go sobbing on me!” Kuro said, taking her hat and ruffling out her long hair. “Look to make it up for ya, I’m taking you someplace special.”

            “Like where?” Lali asked.

Kuro placed his finger over his lips and said “It’s a secret. Come on little one, we need to make it to the top if ya wanna see your present!”

Lali quickly hurried along, trying to get ahead. She raced up the mountain as fast as she could, leaving Kuro behind momentarily. Feeling slightly victorious, Lali stuck her tongue out. She then tripped, thanks to her amazing skill of clumsiness, tumbled forward and rolled into a pile of small rocks. She suddenly broke through the barrier and fell, landing with a loud thud! It wasn’t hard to hear Kuro’s laughter from above, soon seeing him peer down at her from above.

            “See anything?” Kuro called down.

Lali glared but soon looked around. She found nothing out of the ordinary, only seeing black everywhere.

“I can’t really see anything.” Lali replied. She heard Kuro jump down from above to beside her. He took out a flashlight and handed it to her.

“Light my way little gal.” Kuro said, going on ahead. Lali glared at the back of his head and followed him. As Lali shined the light to her rights and lefts, she saw they were surrounded by statues. She suddenly bumped into one, looking up and finding a girl reaching out with clawed fingers and canine like fangs. As Lali looked at the eyes, the eyes glowed a menacing red. Lali screamed causing the whole mountain to shake, Kuro quickly turned around and running to her need. When he saw the statue, he grabbed Lali’s wrist and pulled her away.

“It’s okay it’s only a rock.” Kuro said bluntly. Lali was breathing heavily, coughing a bit. Kuro pulled out an inhaler and forced Lali to take it in her mouth. Lali inhaled and exhaled through her nose, feeling calm.

“Better?” Kuro asked, Lali slowly nodding her head. Lali looked up at Kuro, her eyes seeming to change a bit but return to normal.

“I hate taking that thing.” Lali said, glaring at the inhaler.

“Well you gotta take it.” Kuro said bluntly. “Go check ahead to see if there’s anything that’ll lead us to the underground chamber.”

Lali went on ahead, leaving Kuro behind. Kuro looked at the statue, images of the night Lali was horribly mauled by the reaper Bubbles. He checked the statue, orbiting around it till he came to the back. He found a large gaping hole in the back. Kuro looked inside the hallow statue, looking around. He suddenly spotted one bland hair that was caught in the rocks jagged edges. He plucked it, examining closely. He smelled the hair and wrinkled his nose.

            “Dog….Bubbles…” Kuro said.

“Kuro come on!” Lali called. Kuro looked back and called back “Coming!”

He dropped the hair and quickly ran to Lali, fearing the night ten years ago would repeat itself.

~ * ~

On planet Jared, the former ruler had resigned from his position as king. He had made it his job to locate his eldest son Death the Kidd, who was said to be roaming the Earth somewhere. He passed his throne to his middle child Don who studied years of being a king. The queen had passed away, her soul forever staying beside her husband. As Don’s first decree, he got himself a wife named Lillian an Earthling who was abducted and married to Don after seeing his soft and kind side. It was an average day on planet Jared, the citizens roaming the cities, just returning from a raiding from Sarunia, taking the food. The king was now having a marvelous back massage, moaning at the pleasure of the four armed masseuse who was getting all the knots out of his back.

“Down, down, down, oh right there.” Don said, relaxing finally. As he was about to be drifted off in the stream of relaxation; a loud beeping echoed through the castle walls. Don groaned angrily, stopping the masseuse and getting up. He adjusted the towel around his waist and scratched his dog ears. One of his servants slipped on a red robe and Don walked to the communications room, seating himself in a large chair. He pressed a red blinking button.

Welcome back Don. A robotic female voice said.

“Hello Karin, what’s the emergency?” Don asked.

It appears princess Blake Bubbles Uzimaki has escaped her prison. The trigger appears to be a young child. The computer replied.

Don nearly felt his heart stop as he bolted up as the screen zoomed into Earth, coming into Japan where Mt. Fuji was. It came to a tunnel and appeared to the statue of Bubbles which was now nothing but dust.

“LILLIAN, LILLIAN I NEED YOU!!” Don screamed at the top of his lungs. A young woman, who was sleeping, got up from her luxurious bed and threw on her silk green robe and raced to her husband. She stopped by the bathroom, looking through the medicine cabinet and grabbing a large container of pills. She arrived to the communications room and handed the pills to her husband. Don quickly took out two and gulped it down with water. After coughing a bit, he exhaled and said “Thank you sweetheart.”

“Now what’s the dilemma?” Lillian asked.

“Bubbles, appears to have finally broken from her imprisonment.” Don replied. “Ugh, that stupid Sarunian was supposed to make sure that demon child never went near her imprisonment!”

“Well Don, think about it, it was going to happen someday.” Lillian said. “Each generation she has will have the blood of a demon. There’s no stopping it.”

“I know but that Sarunian promised.” Don said, now fuming. His wife patted him on the shoulder and smiled warmly. Don relaxed a bit and released a frustrated sigh, leaning forward and leaning on the keyboards.

“I have no choice….I have to warn the queen…” Don said dreadfully.

“Oh goodie, I’ll get the tea ready!!” Lillian said excitedly and hurried out of the room to get her tea set ready. Don pushed himself to type in the number waiting for a response and praying that the king would pick up.

Hello? A female voice answered, revealing the queen who was currently being pampered by her maids.

Damn it, the universe is against me! Don thought bitterly but replied “Hello Queen Lenora…”

Don, well this is shocking in deed. Queen Lenora said, shooing away her maids and fluffing out her own hair. What sanity brought you to call upon me, a Sarunian?

“I need to make an audience with you….” Don said, feeling as though he was jabbing a dagger in his dignity and pride.
