PrologueA Chapter by Imagination-mageIn a world where demons roam and spirits rain, there was a village of gifted beings called the water spirits. Having the minds of Einstein and having the amazing ability to bend water, control in other words. They lived a peaceful and solitary life, keeping away from humans knowing that they would either abuse their godly gift or wipe them out. They were careful to keep their bloodline a secret, living in the lands where water always flowed, the Arctic. They lived a tranquil life, living their lives peacefully. That is until a demon fell from the sky, screeching so loud that the water rippled before it broke its surface. As it hit the water with a deafening slap, the water stilled momentarily. The people gathered around the ocean, trying to conjure scientific reason of this outbreak. Before coming up with a conclusion, the water suddenly rippled. A large whale like creature soared through the sky, an ocean blue leathery skin with red markings covering its back, large yellow eyes with cat like pupils and a grey underbelly. The people watched in aw at the demons dance as it crashed back into the icy waters. Erupting from the water once more was a man this time, wearing a kimono with red lacing wrapped around his waist, his dark blue hair covering his eyes as he looked around the village in enigma. “Young sir, are you lost?” one of the villagers asked. He was asked by a young woman who had flowing long blond hair, her skin sun kissed despite the lack of sunlight in the arctic. Her nails with a little long, her eyes an ocean blue and her smile sweet and inviting. The man looked at her, cupping her face in his hands and connecting foreheads with her. The man’s eyes glowed faintly, the woman’s face glowing a very bright red. The man took his forehead away from hers and said “Perfect….”
The young woman was sleeping soundly, the night air cold as she bundled under her blanket. She didn’t notice the door slowly open, letting some light leak in. The man from the ocean creeped in, his hands covered in blood and a trail following him in as he came towards the young woman who slept soundly. He went to his knees, leaning in till his mouth was against her ear and began to sing quietly. Child of the Sea Come and join me Escape with me to the Depths Of the Blackest of sea lets Enjoy a life of eternity Just you…and me… The woman turned in her sleep, the man scooping her up and bringing her outside her house. As they went by the village, corpses were sprawled everywhere that they stepped. They came to the ocean, the salty water being stained red when he stepped in. He calmly walked into the rising tides, the moon completely full and becoming their spotlight. As the cold waves washed over the young woman’s fingers, she began to hazily awake from her slumber. She felt the water soon reach up to her knees and realized she was being carried. “Where am I?” she asked, soon only her head sticking out. “My kingdom…” the man said and plunged into the water, the young woman feeling his skin becoming cold, shivering uncontrollably. She had no time to scream as her vision blurred and she soon black out, feeling a searing pain in her neck. © 2011 Imagination-mage |
