Chapter Five: Rainbow TearsA Chapter by Imagination-mageHiccup awoke, her eyes slowly opening as her vision went from blurred to clear. She blinked a couple of times to get them into focus and moved around. It was then did she realize that this wasn’t her bed…and something was beside her. She looked around the room, finding a high ceiling with a chandelier above; its candles dimming a bit, the walls painted a rich navy blue with a dresser in the corner, a walk in closet, large flat screen HD TV on the wall with her collection dragon statues that she made at home. She then recognized her tool boxes, her favorite pillow and even the pictures of her and her dear friend Fiona. Hiccups eyes went wide when she felt movement on her right side. The bed she was currently sleeping in was large and round, a large white fluffy comforter resting over her and a giant plush pillows under her head, cradling her like she slept on a cloud. She turned her head to the right, only to come face to face with a sleep boy with dark skin and dark hair. She froze; soon bolting up, gathering the comforter and covering her upper half screaming at the top of her lungs. The boy stirred, turning over and saying “Ugh, I hate this alarm.” “Who’re you?!” Hiccup screamed. Apparently the sound of her voice fully awoke the boy, making him jump up and embrace her in a tight hug. “Oh, my Hiccups alright!” he cried happily, rubbing his nose against her neck sending shivers up her spine. Hiccup pushed him away, still screaming at the top of her lungs till only little squeals escaped. “Wh-why am I here?!” Hiccup cried. “This isn’t my apartment!” “No its not, it’s your new home!” the boy said happily. Hiccup glared, looking around then back at the boy. She made her way out of the bed- the comforter still covering her as she walked by. “Y-You’re Dreki right?” Hiccup asked, she was still trembling. “That’s right love.” Dreki responded. Hiccup walked around the room, still shocked that this was her room. Looking closely at the ceiling, she saw stars on the ceiling, glowing faintly. “I remember how you said you liked to see the stars…” Dreki said, his hands were deep in his pockets now. “…So uh…Y-You know me?” Hiccup asked. “Yup.” Dreki said, smiling. Hiccup then realized he was shirtless, making her face heat up. Hiccup saw that one wall was covered in curtains, so she pulled revealing a large window, giving Hiccup a glorious view of the city of New York. It was now dawn and the sun was just rising. Hiccup pressed against the window, marveled by the view. She didn’t realize that Dreki crept behind her until he embraced her in a tight hug. “Do you like it?” Dreki asked, he sounded seductive. Hiccup only nodded and replied “I like it…” Dreki rested his chin on her shoulder, Hiccup too entranced by the scenery to really notice. Dreki then brought his lips to her neck and lightly kissed it, making Hiccup snap out of the trance. His once slit like eye dilated at the feeling of her skin. He then playfully bit into her neck making Hiccup muffle of shout. Her face was blazing hot now and she didn’t know where this was leading. Hiccup pushed him back a good arms length distance. “O-Okay that’s enough…” Hiccup said, trying to sound playful. Dreki couldn’t seem to wait as he grabbed Hiccup around the waist and hoisted her on her shoulder, Hiccup screaming in anger, embarrassment and protest. “P-Put me down!!” Hiccup screamed, Dreki throwing her back on the bed and crawling on top and looming over her. He tried going in for another kiss but Hiccup kept him away. “Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, WHOA!” Hiccup screamed, panicking. “I-I think you’ve got the wrong idea when I tried sounding like that. Now GET OFF!” “Just one kiss?” Dreki begged, clinging onto her waist making Hiccup more aggravated. Hiccup pushed him back as Dreki tried closing the distance between them. “RAPE, RAPE, RAPE!” Hiccup screamed. There was the sound of urgent feet, the door was soon kicked open and an angry Brooke in her morning silk robe came barging in with her cane. She took in the scene, Hiccup tried to push Dreki away as Dreki tried getting closer to his unwilling lover. “DREKI!!!” Brooke roared, twirling her cane and smacking him over the head with it. Dreki went limp soon falling over and landing on his side unconscious. Hiccup quickly got up, looking down at Dreki. “Oh my god…you killed him?” Hiccup asked. “Hell, no!” Brooke bellowed. “Now shut the hell up, It’s eight in the morning and I need my beauty rest.” Brooke followed Hiccups horrified stare and replied “Oh don’t worry he’ll be fine. Just put him back in bed and wait, he’ll come too…maybe.” With that, Brooke left the room. Hiccup sighed, lifting Dreki up and placing him back in the bed. She covered him up and observed the room. She hoped out of the bed and explored a bit more. All her belongings from her apartment were in that room, including new items. She came to the pictures of her friend Fiona, her finger trailing up and down the picture of the two of them as children, playing in the river and trying to catch fish with their bare hands. “I remember you talked about that girl a lot.” A voice said, making her flinch. She turned, finding Dreki sitting up and rubbing his forehead. “H-How’s your head?” Hiccup asked, her face was getting red again. She set the picture down and returned to the bed beside Dreki who only gave her a crocked smile. “It’s been worse, believe me.” Dreki said. “So who was she?” “Huh?” Hiccup asked. “The girl in those photos.” Dreki said, pointing at the pictures. Hiccup looked where he was pointing, soon briefly laughing half heartedly. “She was my best friend.” Hiccup said then stopped herself. “Sorry, is my best friend.” “What happened to her?” Dreki asked. “Her family was attacked and she ran away with her cat.” Hiccup explained. “I haven’t heard from her in ages. Everyone says that she’s dead but I highly doubt it.” “What gives you hope?” Dreki asked. Hiccup soon strolled over to one of her favorites and most recent. She picked up a picture of Fiona and herself racing down the street, pointing out so called mystic beings. Hiccup walked back to the bed and sat in it, Dreki scooting closer so he could look over her shoulder. “Fiona’s a girl who craves adventure.” Hiccup said with a laugh. “Always saying Lady Adventure was her mother. Always saying she saves princes from mad sorceress and witches. She even believed her cat Cake could talk and stretch.” “Stretch?” Dreki asked. “Yeah, like Mr. Fantastic and grow larger in size, shaping her body in any shape or form.” Hiccup said, then realizing that she was droning. “She was crazy, but she always made life outrageously fun.” Hiccup sniffled, rubbing her nose as she set the picture on a small dresser beside her bed. Dreki embraced her and said “You’re probably right, she is alright.” Hiccup smiled, mumbling “Thanks.” “To make you better, I’ll shower you in kisses.” Dreki said. “Huh?” Hiccup asked, her face glowing red as she was pulled down and showered in a wave of kisses. ~ * ~ “Ugh, what happened to you?”” Brooke asked as Hiccup came down the stairs. Her hair was a mess, her large shirt lopsided and she was wiping the left over saliva on her face. She sat down at the table, Brooke giving her a plate full of food. “Can you explain what’s going on?” Hiccup asked. “And here I thought you would know by now.” Brooke said, she was leaning on the counter now. “You’re an ancient warrior.” “Y-Yeah, I had a dream of that…I died.” Hiccup said, digging into her food. “Yeah, so we thought.” Brooke said. “But I guess Erica and Anastasia were right.” “Who?” Hiccup asked. “Erica was devastated when you fell in the volcano to save us all.” Brooke said. “But no one was as devastated as Dreki.” “I rarely know this guy.” Hiccup said. “Dreki and you were destined to marry but before that could happen, a legendary volcano erupted and killed your village members. The cause was our worst enemy, also your assassin.” The flash of the ninja like killer flashed before Hiccups mind, making her tremble uncontrollably. Brooke put a comforting hand on her shoulder making her shivering stop. “She stole an ancient artifact that Erica made that was capable to hold the angry souls of the world, without it the same thing could repeat itself.” Brooke said. “You think I know where it is?” Hiccup asked. “Nope.” Brooke said bluntly. “We’re speaking with Erica too see if she’s located it.” She took Hiccups wrist and dragged her along. Hiccup looked down; she was still in her pajamas. “Uh, I should get dressed first!” Hiccup said. “Oh Erica won’t care.” Brooke said, as they went down the stairs, coming to a trap door and going through. They came to a room with titanium walls, circuits all over the walls with vibrant colors traveling through them. They came to the center of the room, a large orb floating on its own. It turned towards them, revealing a girl with milk chocolate skin, her hair a verity of colors like a rainbow. Her eyes were a deep sea blue and she wore a long pink shirt and white skirt. Her eyes widened when she caught sight of Hiccup. She hopped out and embraced Hiccup in a hug, tackling her to the ground. “Ow…” Hiccup mumbled. She then heard sobbing and turned to the girl, she was crying tears that sparkled colors. Hiccup embraced her back, feeling the familiar hug. That’s right…Erica was one of my friends… Hiccup thought, tears streaking down her face now. Hiccup sat up, Erica soon parting and saying “I knew you weren’t dead!” “Thanks for believing.” Hiccup said, she smiled widely. “So can you help us?” “Yes, yes.” Erica said and got back up, returning to her little throne. She threw her arm to form and arch, a rainbow following to reveal images from Hiccups past self. Hiccup couldn’t believe that she used to look like that, her hair long and looking like caramel, having a great figure. She looked like Hiccup now except her hair was longer and she just glowed justice. She seemed to be a great warrior that is until she saw her being bullied by the other villagers. She felt like that, since she was bullied in school because of her name. “You left the village because you wanted to be with Dreki.” Brooke explained. “Your mother died and your father wasn’t all too great.” Hiccup thought back at the parents she left behind. She hated her father and her mother…. “Hiccup!” Erica said, snapping Hiccup out of her trance. “Sorry, what?” Hiccup asked. “The artifact is a chain, a chain made of gold.” Erica said. “I made it when we began to notice the decrease in human hearts.” “These evil souls steal hearts?” Hiccup asked. Erica nodded and Brooke said “They would roam the Earth to rip the hearts out of regretful victims. They were being led by the woman that killed you the day Celty revived you.” Hearing Celty’s name made Hiccup want to instantly bow and ramble about how great she was but she fought back the urge. Brooke chuckled under her breath when she saw the reaction to hearing Celty’s name. “The assassin still holds the chain and we need it back before history repeats itself.” Erica said. “But only you can get it back.” “Yeah, you up for it?” Brooke asked. Hiccup remained quiet before nodding her head, suddenly feeling the gaping hole in her heart that always told her she was missing something in her life filling up dramatically. She suddenly felt ready for battle, having the urge to kill. Her eyes gleamed as she said “I promise to find it.” Erica smiled, tears rolling down her cheeks as she said “She’s back.” © 2011 Imagination-mage |
