A few steps it takes
then a small hand reached out
to stroke the soft, curly hair
of a nearly dead girl
brought a last smile on her trembling lips

Soundless steps, no sound was heard

The fragile body turned around
it faced my appearance and approached me
both hands on my cheeks,
holding my head up as I tried to look away
