RED

RED

A Poem by Rob Santana
"

The colour is RED (lyrics)

"
My soul is RED
my spirit, forever RED,

look at my clothes...

 RED

my aura....injured

eyes...RED

your knuckles...BLOOD RED

the butcher's laugh...
 RED

my shoes, RED

you slowly enter my room
quickly flicking the switch...

RED light...ON

you're familiar
with my room

you crawl on your knees
and shake my bed

I look outside
my bedroom window

the entire sky...
turned RED

I can see
your poison glowing

as it creeps
across my soul

welcome to
the freak show
of golden abuse

I remain silent
in my fleshly tomb

I like this ^_^
Brings a certain band to mind, you might very well be able to gather which one xD
But yeah, the style is really unique and I love the imagery.
The flow is broken by the Red very abruptly and it really adds to it.
Great poem!

Red. The color and power of it fiercely screams through your short, pounding lines.

No problem, keep up the great work.
I love this, Rob. I love too, the colour RED and all it connotes. The staccato nature and short stanzas go perfectly with the feel and colour. And since I know you like your corrections --butcher's((apostrophe) laugh and eyes (no apostrophe). :)

This is amazing! Honestly when I visited your page I was unsure of which I wanted to read because all the titles looked so good!
Red is an amazing color that can stand for a great number of things, it could be a thing of beauty, or a symbol of death. Great write! :)

The color red can mean so many different things...love, passion, anger, hate...
which leads me to your thought provoking and powerful words...dark and delicious...they drew me in and left me wondering why red is my favorite color....hmmm..
Brilliant writing Rob!

you welcome much.
I love the switch from red to golden in the end.
It all sounds so terribly BAD but then that golden bit makes me think that maybe that's just how it's meant to be. Dark and dangerous.
