Dreams

Dreams

A Poem by Kimberly Miller

Dreams

They awaken our minds at night

They haunt us with their mystical might

Sometimes they bring back memories of long ago

Other times they replay things of woe

Still yet they remind us the joys of life

Or the sadness and sorrow of hardships or strife

Perhaps they dwell on our embarrassments

Or the times that were most pleasant

Most cannot understand these mysterious messages

Seemingly sent from a person of presage

They swirl in our mind like an unknown obsurity

Almost as if they reek of impurity

Sometimes we awake in a cold sweat

Or tears streaming down our face in fret

Yet other times we arouse with a smile

Those this seems to happen once in a great while

Perhaps these foggy visions have more content

Yet they leave us with things that seem absent

While we ponder these dreams undiscovered

Some might never be meant to be uncovered

Exquisite language and imagery! You immediately involve your readers in the ritual gone time.

The poem can be about a stalker lost ghost trying to infiltrate a person's train of thought by masquerating itself as a character in a dream to force mimic past experiences behind the person knowledge.

That was a great poem and you are very talented. I think this did a great job of explaining in dreams in the only way possible, and that is through poems.

I once dreamed I was sitting on a commode in a book store. Go figure. Dreams are very strange aren't they.

Good poem Kimberly.

Fantastic observations of those fleeting dreams that seem to appear in the night and quickly disappear once we are totally awake. Valentine
