Society

A Poem by Mary Sessions
"

stress stress stress stress piercing my skull stress stress stress!!!!!!

"

Trapped within classrooms,

Twitching in my seat,

Itching to flee from

The grades,

The due dates,

The social status

The papers, papers, papers!

A clanging bell,

I'm free!

No more stress!

No more social ranking!

...Or maybe not.

Outside,

Homework,

Parents,

Sports,

STRESS!

Gnawing away at my mind.

I try to relax,

To be peaceful,

But its always there,

At the edge of my mind,

Clawing its way in.

And I know that

It's only a matter of time,

Until I succumb to the madness

That is my life.

I know exactly how you feel (of course, you already know that, 'cause... well, yeah). Life can be incredibly chaotic, a maelstrom of stress, status, and judgement.

I like your writing style in this piece. It isn't super eloquent, so I can tell it's a real person with real problems, but it still has a certain poetic touch to it that gives it a flowing grace. Great write! :D
